Summary: Written in response
this prompt for a Martin/John fic but more so in response to a stunning fill by
theimprobable1 which can be
found here, which tore out my heart. I started writing a happy-ending John/Martin before she continue on her fic and made it all better for Martin with an OMC (which I adored), but I still needed a happy ending for our Doctor and Pilot.

Chapter 8 - I’ll have the fish
On Tuesday as Douglas began shutting down systems while their passengers disembarked in Madrid, Martin forwent his usual part in their checklist to switch on his phone and check his text messages.
Douglas smiled as he flipped the switches on the Captain's side.
"You checked those just before we left, Martin, and everyone you know is on-board, so who could you possibly be expecting a text message from?"
Martin's phone, now switched back on beeped loudly in the cockpit, and he grinned, ignoring Douglas' teasing.
"Unless, of course, it's a message from Doctor Fantastic..."
"We've been texting," Martin said as he brought up the message screen and his smile broke into a grin.
'Results back from S. You'll live, but need to eat more fish- Doctors orders. Also, you'll be glad to know you didn't kill three window cleaners in Brighton last week. X John.'
"Texting or sexting?" Douglas asked.
At that moment Arthur popped his head around the flight-deck door. Martin, Douglas noticed, didn't even look up from his phone.
"Mum wants to buy some catering for you two for the trip home, as I'm not allowed to go near anything edible ever again. Any requests?" Arthur asked.
"I think the problem was, Arthur that what you created wasn't edible, so I'm not sure how effective that rule is going to be," Douglas responded.
"I'll have the fish," Martin answered with a distracted smile, still staring at the screen. Douglas shook his head; Martin was so difficult to tease this week.
"Anything not fish, then," Douglas responded to Arthur's question before he threw a puzzled look at Martin and disappeared back into the galley.
"Quite taken with the dishy-doctor, I take it?"
Martin glanced up at Douglas, bit his lip and then looked back down to the screen, smile ebbing from his face.
Douglas was shocked to see it gone completely when he looked back up at Douglas.
"He's... perfect, and I'm, well... me. I'm determined to enjoy it for as long as it lasts, Douglas, but you know my luck..."
"Oh, Martin," Douglas said quietly.
