other's opinions of ourselves, and our own...

It's been an interesting week, the last week or so... We had a house guest for a week last week (which was cool in itself: unusual things add a spark to life, eh?). On the day before she left, we happened to discuss her impressions of us. I was surprised when she said that I was the "quiet one" (since if anyone's quiet in our family, I'd expect it to be bro Vincent... I don't see myself as being quiet, not at all...)

And then there was the guy on the Detective Conan forum with which I'd had a nice debate on evolution vs. faith... (That was cool to do, it started as a thread on "do you believe in God, and why?" and picked up from there... Though the others on the forum never asked the tougher questions, such as 'do you believe you profit in any way from being able to believe God exists?'...) ... But anyway, this guy I'd had that debate with, it turns out he'd somehow gotten the impression that I was female! Glack! (That also happened to me in christian singles chatroom, once, but I figured the person who'd done that wasn't paying attention...) Hmph! Maybe I oughta do some virtual boozing and burping or something! ;) I'm kidding, really!

And then, today: someone on the D.C. forum came up with "well, it's kinda odd, isn't it, for a person to be 34 and obsessed with anime..."! I won't say I died laughing (it wasn't *that* funny), but that comment did make me laugh, and helped brighten up the good evening that has come, even from a pretty rough day... *Shakes his head* Just writing a fanfic or two, and being a member of an anime/manga forum, those things do not add up to an obsession! Though I suppose people who aren't into it might have a different opinion...
