I'm back and tired as hell. We left Louisiana at about 5 Thursday. We didn't get into Darlington until around 9 Friday morning. We went straight to the track. Friday was the longest day. They had practice for both the Busch and Winston Cup. Then they both had qualifying. Each part lasted over 2 hours. We didn't leave the track until around 5. Then we had to drive an hour out to the hotel. I watched Lord of the Rings on the way to Darlington on the mini dvd player. It was good, but it just kinda left you hanging with the ending. I crashed at the hotel.

Saturday we got up around 7 to drive to the track for the Busch Race. Outside though they have all these game tents and free shit to win. I won a Cingular cooler and a Cingular ticket holder. I couldn't play any of the fun games though, cause my mom forced me to wear the fucking sling. For the Busch race we sat in the Handy capped section for my mom, but we were right on start finish line. We saw a few crashes right in front of us. And the winner and 2nd place driver (they were team mates) did a spin out and burned their tires right in front of us. Then we found the people we came with and went to this place called the Iron Skillet for dinner. The boys all saw a sign that said T-bone stake for $10 and wanted that. Thank God they had more then just stake. This was like a truck stop and had those cool quarter strategy game machines so I played those for about an hour.

Sunday the day the big boys race. We got up at 5 am. Got to the track around 7 and parked and tailgated with the other people. They cooked eggs and some stuff. I sat in the car with the air on and watched Coyote Ugly until they were done eating. Then my mom and I went walking and shopping. I spent $100 just on stuff for Dale, Jr. I got 3 shirts, 3 shot glasses, a hat, a program, 2 hoods, a huge poster, and a Ryan Newman sticker. I actually got 6 shot glasses this entire trip. I got a Jr one, Mikey, Kerry (since he got fired and it'll be worth something someday), South Carolina, A Darlington one with the date since this is the last Labor Day race there (again will be worth something), and an Atlanta one (we drove through there). We walked everything back to the car and got the coolers and seat cushions and were ready to go racing. Let me tell you, when you go to the races, you do a shit load of walking from the parking lot to the track and all the drivers trailers.

Our seats were so kick ass, 5th row right at the start finish line next to the flag waver. We had a great view of pit row and the front of the garage. I was cheering so loud when Gordon wrecked. But how the hell is it possible my 3 favorite drivers, Dale Jr., Michael Waltrip, and Ryan Newman all have shitty days? Fucking Newman was going to win too had he not hit the emergency shut down button. Oh well, everyone was happy Terry won. It was rather emotional. We were lucky enough to be right where his pit was. So after he won his entire crew came over and climbed the fence I shook one guys hand. They dropped the checkered flag and he took his victory lap. I honestly don't think a single person didn't want him to win that day, they were all on their feet cheering him on. He hadn't won since 99, so he deserved it. After his speech they covered his car in corn flakes and a gallon of milk. It was just so I can't explain, it's one of those things you have to experience for yourself. I got pelted with debris and all from the track. We got pieces of tire. We are going to frame that, the tickets, and a shirt since this is the last race for Labor Day at that track. It's over, I'm home and sad but Saturday is a night race, and I love night races. I have to order my parents Bristol tickets for their Anniversary gift.

Oh yeah, Lots of people got sick from the heat. All these old people were being taken to the care center, it was kinda sad. I am sun burnt all over, except for my fucking arm that was in the sling. Needless to say I've been oding on Aloe Vera all over. So now I am sun burnt and sleep deprived but ready to go back to the races again. Sunday, David Space was made Mayor for a day at the track and we got to see Smash Mouth sing before the race also.

My next race is at the end of September, for Talladega. Only 4 weeks to go, A LONG FOR WEEKS. That one Dale Jr. is going to win though and Mikey will be second, Ryan will be 3rd. Oh yeah, I put a Ryan Newman sticker on the car too, mom wasn't too pleased, but she let Scott had a Gordon sticker and we all hate him so she deals with it.
Ok I have to try and sleep now. I miss my doggies and can't wait to have them back. Night.
