Dear Fellow Mistletoe Participant,
Thank you in advance for what you'll do for me. I'm sure I'll love it. I also know how difficult it is to create for someone you don't know, so I'm writing a few things down. Please take what you like and ignore what you don't. This is mostly to help you out.
General Likes
I'm really easy to please. Give me something that feels like canon and I'm happy, but to get into the specifics:
- I like plot. Whether you're exploring an event, a relationship, a case, I'll love it.
- Characterization. I love character driven stories. I love any story that makes me feel like I'm getting to know the characters in a new light
- Getting together stories. I simply adore them.
- I'm a slasher at heart and I've never read a slash ship I don't adore. I come from the HP fandom where Giant Squid and teaspoons were part of a pairing, so really go crazy.
- Humor, fluff and banter.
- Dialogue, lots of dialogue.
- Happy endings. I enjoy angst along the way, but I like that happy ending. Life is crappy enough at the moment and fandom is my happy place
- Linear telling. I can't really read/watch non linear stories. Once I know how it ends, I stop caring.
- Characters in their 20s and up
General Dislikes
- PWP. When it comes to smut, I don't mind it, but I don't really find PWPs that interesting.
- Major character death
- BDSM
- Non canonical gender/race identity
- Unhappy ending
- Non magical/fantasy AU in magical/fantasy fandoms. I do love canon divergence or post canon.
- Kidfic
- MPREG in non fantasy/magical canon
- Threesome/poly unless specifically asked for.
- A/B/O
Ships
Harry Potter
Pansy Parkinson/Percy Weasley
Ron Weasley/Blaise Zabini
I've been writing HP for twenty years, so I tried to pick ships I've never done. I adore snarky Slytherins paired with Gryffinors.
When it comes to wizards and purebloods, I love the magical world, their traditions (canon or made up) and their magic. I don't particularly like it when they are suddenly 'too Muggle' and know all about Muggle designers and films and music, or eve live in the Muggle world. Keep it magical ad I'll love you forever.
MCU
Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau
James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers
Loki/Thor
Three very different ships, but they are all family and friends and it's what I love about them.
The Alienist
Laszlo Kreizler/John Schuyler Moore
This is a new ship for me and I love how restrained they both are. I'd really love anything with them.
The Haunting of Blue Manor
Dani Clayton/Jamie (Haunting of Bly Manor TV)
Hannah Grose/Owen Sharma (Haunting of Bly Manor TV)
I adored both love stories, the one that got to be played out and the one that never happened.
For Dani/Jamie, I'd love something during their lives together. For Hannah/Owen, whether you want to go AU or AR, it's fine with me.
NCIS LA
G Callen/Sam Hanna (NCIS LA)
I LOVE the banter between the two and how much they understand each other. Anything about how they finally go from friends to lovers would be lovely.
Stargate
Daniel Jackson/Jack O'Neill (Stargate)
Daniel Jackson/Vala Mal Doran (Stargate)
Daniel/Jack was my first love since the movie, but the dynamic with Vala is just as fun. Both help Daniel be less serious.
Star Trek
Cleveland Booker/Michael Burnham
James T. Kirk/Spock
Michael Burnham/Mirror Phillippa Georgiou
What to say about Kirk/Spock? They are the grandfathers of slash and honestly anything will do with them. It can be during the five years, after the five years, before the movies, after the movies. I assure you that I will love it.
With Discovery, the first two seasons were grim. I adored the first two episodes of season 3. Michael i a lot more fun and both Booker and Georgiou helps bring that out in her.
I hope this helps you, but the most important thing is to enjoy what you write, because I'm sure I'll love it.
Love,
Titti
