BON JOVI

Jul 13, 2008 10:36

Yesterday, we went to the FREE (yes, that would be free, thank you New York City) concert. We left my house around noon, and got in line around 1:30. It took about 2 hours to get inside even though doors opened at 2 pm ( Read more... )

You went to that! I'm so jealous, lmao, in a good way. And you got close! Years and years and YEARS ago, my mother was John's uncle's insurance agent, and he invited us up to have dinner and meet the Bongiovi's (of course, John wasn't there :( ), and since then, I'm like this little stalker person, rotf. But in secret. There was no point to that little story, but I love when I see other fans (and not those who didn't know Bon Jovi until Sam and Dean sang the song, lol). I'm glad you got in to see them, and weren't stuck like some of the poor people who didn't get the "get there early" memo.

*smishes you a little too hard with my envy*

OMG, there were these two (gay) guys standing next to us and they knew all the words to the new songs and none of the old, and I kept looking at them thinking 'WTF is wrong with them' you know? I can't even imagine not knowing Bon Jovi before watching SPN. That's such a depressing thought. Really, really depressing.

Yeah, there were people coming after the Yankee game. *rolls eyes* You need to be there early, but it was a great afternoon so it doesn't matter.

Good lord, I feel bad because I don't really know the newer stuff very well; I'm all about the first 3 albums. I just dated myself, but whatever, because good LORD, they were ridiculous back then. In a good way. I mean - "Runaway"? Ridiculous. I loved their "we're new and our hair is awesomer than yours" stuff.

I didn't know about the concert until the news on Thursday night, where they were talking about over "booking", so to speak, and I could only think, "Oh, shit, that's gonna end badly". I'm all PROUD of us for not being typical New Yorkers and Jerseyans and gettin' all rowdy, rotf.

Maybe because Jon's hair, the last few years, is getting gayer and gayer? LOL.

Yeah, the new stuff is okay, but I only know a few songs, but up to Keep the Faith, I knew them religiously.

I mean the overbooking was that instead of 50000, they gave 60000 tickets because of contest and the like, but the Great Lawn has a capacity of way more than that. I think the 50000 was the number given from the Park dept. to avoid problems to the grass and the field itself.

I know and all the looks he kept giving Richie didn't help any with his straight image. LOL

I LOVE Bon Jovi. Seriously: awesome, and a great memory from my childhood.

My partner says my themesong would be You Give Love A Bad Name. :)

Oooh I'm not sure if that song is a good thing or not. ;)

They are great though. Truly great in concert.

Wow! Dev'essere stato veramente un grande concerto!!!
Purtroppo qui da noi dei concerti così e per di più gratis ce li scordiamo... mi accontento giusto di quello di Max Pezzali ;-)
Voglio vivere in Americaaaaaa eheh :)
