I had a nice, relaxed New Year's Eve this time. rubybrambleburr came over in the evening, and we ate cheese fondue, drank French cider and watched Caravaggio (the film was too arty-farty but young!Bean is sooo gorgeous) and 2/3 of the Firefly pilot. Cheese fondue sounds wonderful. And what's French cider?

Not much happened around here - there weren't any fireworks at midnight, although there were a lot of explosions and screaming coming from downtown. I was tucked into bed by nine, and half-awake all night, listening to the new radio station. It's driving me nuts - they keep playing all the really good music and I don't wanna miss anything, so...

Anyway, I'm glad you and rubybrambleburr had a good time. Let's hope that 2006 is the year the world comes together in peace. At the very least, let's hope it's the year the U.S. gets a brain. LOL!

Cheese fondue was quite nice, yes. French cider is alcoholic cider, but it's a bit different from English (and Irish) cider. Less fizz, more apple, I'd say.

We saw lots of fireworks last night just sitting on my sofa. Even more reason to be happy with my apartment. :-)
