REDD KROSS @ AMOEBA, HOLLYWOOD - 8/28/12
I missed the Redd Kross show at the Roxy earlier this month because it wasn't commuter friendly for me and it was also on a TUESDAY!!! I was thrilled when this in-store was announced a couple of weeks ago and there was no way I'd miss it. Redd Kross are one of my favorite bands and I think the McDonald brothers are Sofa King cool!! I so want to be a part of their circle of friends more than any clique of bears!!! If you haven't seen Desperate Teenage Lovedolls or Spirit of '76 stop reading this and do so NOW!! ALL TWO OF YOU!!!!

Guy called me saying that he was already there. I showed up at around 545pm. It was really good seeing Guy. This is my first time seeing him since he became the father of twins. I miss seeing that fucker like every other day but I understand how he's busy!!! manicdogbert showed up but stupid security blocked off where Guy and I were standing.

It's always great seeing Redd Kross. I haven't seen them since they played the Fonda Theater at Rodney Bingenheimer's Star on the Walk of Fame show in '07. When Redd Kross hit the stage Guy and I were surprised to see that our friend's ex-husband was now playing guitar for them! I was at their wedding and they have an autistic son together. Which reminds me I should call Mona. I miss that fucker!
Redd Kross played an amazing set. I could watch Steve McDonald play all day. I assumed that they would play a 30 minute set but they played for almost an hour!
Thoroughly rocked!!! After the show me, Guy and Ben hung around and shot the shit. We posed with our favorite albums:
Funny, I never made the gay sex connection with this album.
ME: You should totally play that for the twins.
I wanted to stay and maybe talk to Jason Shapiro (Redd Kross' new guitaris)t but I thought it would be too weird being that I'm still friends with Mona. I also wanted to get the new album signed but I had to meet my mom at the Hollywood Bowl. Can't Keep mama waiting!
LA PHILHARMONIC, LA MASTER CHORALE, LA CHILDREN'S CHOIR performing CARMINA BURANA @ THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL - 8/28/12
Guy dropped me off in front of the Hollywood Bowl and I met our family friend Edwin at the gate with my ticket. We chowed down on Costco pizza when the lights went down.
I've heard "O FORTUNA" a billion times but I never heard Carmina Burana in it's entirety. IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING hearing it live!!! HEAVY! POWERFUL! AND The LA Master Chorale is filled with thee hottest daddy bears!!!
Carmina Burana is pretty fucking dirty too! It's all about fucking!!!
My mother smacked me several times for giggling.
That picture does not do the Chorale justice. I had my eye on two dudes in particular! I might go again on Thursday for the second performance just to scope out those dudes again!!!!
