I got my first speeding ticket this weekend driving home from the Ratdog show Friday night, 53 in a 40. The cop asked me at one point if I was going for a gun while he was running my information and repeatedly asked if I had any firearms or other weapons in the car. Then I was told to keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times and not to look at the cop anymore. Never in my life have I had a positive experience with police officers including those who I count as family or friends. They thrive on intimidation tactics and many have drinking problems and have serious issues with spousal abuse. Either way, I'm pleading not guilty because up until Friday I had never even been pulled over for a warning for so much as even rolling through a stop sign (and I learned how to drive in a town that at least at one point had the record for most stop signs per square mile!) I feel that my record should be considered before a sentence is pronounced. Of course I have no doubt that I'll be ignored.
