The arrival of two much loved visitors have prompted the necessity of a road trip. I have decided against other trips to make the ocean road trip. Trying not to miss out on any of port phillip bay's oceanic beauty i decided to take the great ocean road trip via the mornington peninsula. It was quite a drive towards sorrento with one short stop along frankston for some snap bug delights or commonly known as the asian addiction ( also prevalent in SMS situations).
We have a few outburst of delight from the passengers after learning that we are taking a ferry across the port phillip bay from sorrento to queenscliff, Thus acknowledging the little part they have participated in the planning. I must say i have not been kind to any of the passengers on board having to drive give me the license to be mean i suppose. ( chuckle)
We took many poser shots on sorrento cliff that overlook the pier where the ferry departs. I Attempted the mid-air snap which turn out to be quite fun and airy.
Lunch time: We have planned the lunch break in advance having decided to cringe on lunch by having a cook out and having a splendid dinner the moment we reach Lorne. We came to a campsite that is closed during winter and decided that it is time to get our gear out and cook some korean kim chi noodles. The gas cooker is out, the pot, jerry can of water, noodles and cocktail hotdog. All setup and ready, we turned on the cooker, we decided to put the noodles in after a slight simmer. There we were arguing whether it is taking too long and if there is even a flame after 5 minutes when we decided to heed AL's and check on the flame. My bad, i have not bought a new canister of butane...( i feel like that guy from king of the hill who is utterly disappoint from an under performing gas BBQ.) I think everyone was looking forward to a warm bowl of noodles, that didn't happen.
I decided that since it is my bad i will buy fish and chips and potato cakes for the crew which they quickly ravaged. Special note: don't ever leave ur tar-tare sauce out with AL, he finishes them before everyone else can have any.
Before passing through Anglesea, The drive towards Lorne was a little arduous as i get bored with nice straight roads. The first sight of the coastline was just breathe taking as it is fast approaching dusk at about 4pm but i didn'ti expect the next part of the drift to be that exciting. It felt like tokyo drift where u drive up the mountain around 40-50km round tight bends and that kept me awake. We arrive at Lorne soon enough
Dinner:
entree: scallop kebab
