Wakey Wakey!

Beast Boy crowed shrilly in his rooster form, strutting down the tower's hallways. He stepped haltingly down the hall, ruffling his wings and tilting his head, and when the door to the livingroom opened, he was human again.

"Man.. hurts my throat..." He rasped, rubbing his neck.

The computer screen flickers in the living room for a brief moment, going pitch black before a streak of white lettering lines across it, saying: "Slade is in Steel City, but not for long. He'll be back in Jump City soon. You might want to do something about it."

There's no signature, no hints to who it is, nothing. Just the message all on its own.

His eyes widened as he read the message.

"Dude, who is that from?"

"Slade has Robin..." Cyborg began, his eyes flying up to the message as it appeared... even not knowing who it was from, it wasn't the kind of thing they could afford to ignore. "And we think he's headed your way. You need back-up?"

"Of course not. We can handle ourselves." her tone was guarded, but her words were casual, and she actually sounded almost offended by his comment.

Cyborg laughed shortly, knowing that they'd all be bristling at his offer... he should have known better.

"As long as you guys are alright..." He glanced up at the message again. "We have information that says he'll be heading back to Jump City soon... Keep your eyes open." His voice went cold as he jumped to the obvious conclusion. "He might be there to see Brother Blood."

"We're fine." she paused, listening to Aqualad mutter something in the background.

"We will. We'll call you if we find something out."

Cyborg frowned, wondering why Speedy wasn't hogging the line like he normally did... but he didn't really worry about it. They would have told him if something was wrong...

"Right... Cyborg, out." Still frowning, he turned away from the phone and looked at the others. "Did that seem weird to you?"

"Oh no. Bumblebee always sounds stressed and Speedy never talks." Raven said sarcastically, glaring at the words on the screen.

Cyborg shook his head.

"It's even more than that... she didn't seem worried about Blood at all. Like he wasn't important." He paused on the verge of turning around and calling back.

-If they need us, they'll call... I'm not their leader.- He reminded himself bitterly.

"How're those waffles coming?" He asked, the question punctuated by a loud growl from his stomach.
