Fandom: Assassin's Creed
Age: 26

Malik is never canonically given a height or weight. He's not shown to be much taller or shorter than any of the other character's he encounters and it is likely that he's of average height. Due to his training as an assassin, he is physically in great shape and his build reflects such under tanned skin. He has short, dark hair and a shadow of facial hair along his chin and jaw and eyes of a similar color. It should be noted as well that he is missing his left ring finger.
Canon point: After he and Kadar get separated from Altair in the Solomon’s Temple.
Cause of Death: Death by Templars - Canonically, Malik, his brother Kadar and brother assassin Altair are tasked to obtain a treasure from the Solomon’s Temple and do away with Robert de Sable. The mission does not go as anticipated, however, and after Altair’s arrogant and thoughtless attempt on de Sable’s life, Altair is thrown from the room. Before Altair can return to Malik and Kadar, a ‘cave in’ of the passageway closes keeping Malik and Kadar trapped with de Sable and his accompanying Templars.
The exact events are never shown but the end result is Malik sustaining a heavy injury to his left arm and Kadar dying. Instead of Malik escaping with but a heavily damaged arm, I’m going to say he was killed by the Templars shortly after his brother, in the Solomon’s Temple.
Abilities: Malik is a character with many abilities both physically and mentally.
Physically, he wields of the body of an assassin. He is trained in their ways from movement to combat and is said to aspire to be on par with the Master Assassin Altair. As such, he is agile, gifted with a swiftness and silence that would allow an assassin to move undetected to carry out their duties. He is trained and likely a master of parkour like his brother assassins, allowing him to scale most buildings and walls, leap distances most normal people would never dream of, and balance and navigate areas of caution such a beams and ledges with relative ease. These abilities allow him to reach places out of reach for most others or to infiltrate areas in ways many others would be unable to.
Of course, the use of such talents require much work from the body - particularly in ways of the upper-body and core as well as require large amounts of endurance and stamina. While trained in the art of infiltration and stealth, assassins are also well-versed in the art of escaping and capture - they’re able to run long distances or sprint shorter ones to escape their pursuers or chase down their targets. Coupled with a ‘strong sword arm’ and a honed skill with weapons such as swords, daggers, throwing knives and the signature hidden blade, Malik (and likewise, any Assassin worthy of the title) is a worthy combatant trained to not only hold their own and cut down their foes, but to counter and evade with precision and ease.
While not as physically capable as some assassins (Altair, in particular), Malik more than makes up for it with his mind. An avid follower of the Creed and all teachings surrounding it, he knows and values the meaning of subtlety and tact - something that comes in handy when things such as pickpocketing and eavesdropping are nessecary. He is a more than capable informant, able to find and retain the information he needs when the need calls for it. Canonically, he is given the position of the Jerusalem Assassin Bureau leader, indicating a certain level of scholastic strength that not many would be able to achieve. He is also shown to drawn maps, implying he may possess a sharp memory to be able to recall such details to put on paper.
Background:
Malik Al-Sayf at Assassin's Creed WikiPersonality: Bitter and perhaps slightly at odds with himself and the world around him, Malik could easily be considered unapproachable in numerous senses.
At his core, Malik is an Assassin - a faithful follower of the Creed and his Master. His world and beliefs are built around the Brotherhood, making him something of a blind follower in regards to what they are taught and how they live. He is, perhaps, one of the ‘purest’ of believers, never doubting and always following, condemning those who do not follow such a sacred tenet to the degree in which he does. His desire to live so deeply within the ideals of the Brotherhood have allowed him to grow in to the man he is now; disciplined and loyal to his cause and purpose, selfless in the face of any mission the Brotherhood may place upon his shoulders. He knows the ways of the Assassin well, showing open distaste for those who raise their blade to an innocent and respecting the principle of subtlety greatly.
As an assassin and as a person, Malik is harsh and unyielding in all he says; there is rarely sanctuary or comfort to be sought in any words he may speak. Malik is an honest man, one who fears nothing in saying what he thinks and feels on a matter at hand. So quick is his tongue to form words of hatred and belittlement and it seems there is no filter of who does or does not befall verbal lashings. You would be considered lucky to escape his presence with little more than a brush of sarcasm or a slight raise to his voice. Criticism and complaints are his preferred methods of communication, one may think, and he is not opposed to doing either when the situation calls for it.
While not only capable of wielding a sharp, venomous tongue, he is armed with an almost cold temperament. The young Rafiq is hardly one to deal with foolishness or anything of the sort, resorting once more to words of disapproval and disagreement that add to an already unimpressionable nature. His intolerance of such thing lead him to come off as irritable and quick-tempered, something he only feeds in to when he allows his distaste for a situation to show through his words and volume with an almost condescending nature. At times, this may come off as bitterness with the world or a sign of cynicism destined only to become worse as the years come pass by - though perhaps such a thing is unavoidable, given his place among the Brotherhood.
Despite this, it would be a lie to say that Malik is any less of a man than any other Assassin for his words, actions and opinions. While callous and brazen in many ways, there is a strange sincerity that lurks underneath - reserved only for the worthy and reformed. He appears to be well aware of many of his faults as a person and of his own thoughts and for this, he is man enough to stand in the face of the damned and right the wrong he has committed with his feelings and actions. This is particularly true for Altair (perhaps is brother, as well, though canon neither confirms nor denies this) - someone who so blatantly disregarded and went against Malik’s deepest beliefs - as Malik was able to overcome a deep-rooted envy and hatred for his ways to accept Altair as the man he truly is, despite his more prominent flaws. Still, he is known to hold grudges and does not easily forgive and forget. It’s only through time and the observation of the actions of other’s that he can release feelings of discontent from his heart on a subject matter.
A strangely powerful and unshakeable pillar of knowledge and faith, he is competent in many regards. Intelligent and skillful in a time when such things could be considered rare, his eventual placement as the leader of the Assassin’s Bureau in Jerusalem was a wise choice. He is perceptive in many senses, able to inspire those around him with his words should he deem it necessary. He is, without a doubt, a fine informant capable of harvesting sought after information and understanding (though not fully) that such information can change as nothing is guaranteed, as the Creed dictates (Nothing is true, everything is permitted). His scholastic talents extend far beyond that of simply finding and obtaining information and needed connections, but to things such as cartography and typography as well. He is wise well beyond his years and is able to set his own hatred and shortcomings aside to overcome a situation carefully, tactfully and completely with the right amount of effort. He carries an unfaltering work ethic and dedication to his mission and tasks that allows him to provide assistance and support to someone whom he can genuinely say he has no favorable inclination towards. Such behaviors tie in, once more, to his dedication to the brotherhood and his chosen beliefs as he is a selfless person who will set aside his own shortcomings for the success and victories of those around them.
All of the above are what make Malik the capable man that he is. As he is just that - a man - he has both the flaws and characteristics that make him such. Loyal and hard-working, envious of those who have accomplished what he cannot and an understanding of and dedicated to a way of life he was born in to, Malik is unquestionably well-suited for the roles he has stepped in to.

1st Person Sample:[ note ..pretending, for the sake of simplicity that he has learned the WAYS of this sorcery that is technology. Or this would be terribly illegible. ]
Attacking the innocent and defenseless in their place of sanctuary is a show of cowardice, a disgraceful act in and of itself. Such actions display a lack of morals and respect for any and all around you. Your blatant display of greed and spinelessness will get you no where in this ‘game’ we take part in and will be your undoing.
Bring unrest and fear to these ‘Neutral Zones’ again and know this - my blade will taste your flesh without fail. Never shall I raise arms to an innocent, but you have lost the right to such a title the instant you brought harm upon another in their place of safety and shelter.

IC Character Survey: 1. Do you have any nicknames, street names, titles, or aliases?
There is no shortage of them. Ghost, coward, heretic, heathen - those of the Order care not for the title by which they are addressed, so long as it is not one of failure.
2. What is your full birth name?
Malik Al-Sayf, son of Faheem Al-Sayf
3. Where do you live?
Wherever the Brotherhood will have me. For now, it is a place known as Masayf.
4. Give a two or three word description of yourself.
An Asassin.
5. What do you perceive as your greatest strength?
My dedication to the Order and the Creed is my greatest strength. It is my belief in it and what it dictates that governs my actions and reminds me of my place in this world. Without such loyalty and faith to either, for what do I work towards?
6. What do you perceive as your greatest weakness?
My envy of skill that is not my own. Such a thing breeds hatred in my heart and tarnishes the bond I have amongst my brothers in the Order, even when it is not my intent to do such a thing.
7. Do you have any dreams or ambitions? What are they? If not, why?
Every man, woman and child have both - it is the presence of one or the other that defines you. I dream, dream of fulfilling my duties well and without fail. Though ill of me, I ambition to succeed where one of my brother should fail.
8. How would you like to be remembered after your death?
For the good I have done and the faith and loyalty I bore to my way of life.
9. If your features were to be destroyed beyond recognition, is there any other way of identifying your body?
An assassin brushes death with regularity; scars are plentiful. I, however, lack any of true definition and can only hope such a fate does not befall me.
10. Do you, or did you, have any role models?
There is someone who I have unyielding respect and admiration for. Not a ‘role model’, as you say. He is a mentor, my master, my leader.
11. How do you generally treat others?
As their actions dictate. I have nothing to gain from coddling someone who so willingly disregards others just as I have nothing to gain from treating a valuable ally ill.
12. Do you trust easily (perhaps too easily) or not?
Trust is something to be earned, to be entrusted to those who deserve such a thing. It is not something to be so freely given as people often do.
13. Do you act differently than you feel (concealing your true thoughts)?
Were an assassin to act only on emotions and feelings, there would be chaos. Too many lives would be lost without reason and this would lead to hated, breed enemies that could bring about the downfall of even the strongest of alliances.
14. What habits would you find most annoying in friends?
Gloating or anything of the sort.
15. How do others typically react to you? Why, in your opinion, do they act that way?
With dignity and respect, as brothers should. Or as if I am beneath him - if they let their ego dictate their way of life.
16. Do you like food mild or heavily spiced?
I am grateful for what I am given and will continue to be. Only a fool or those with too much pride would turn away a meal humbly presented to them regardless of.
17. Are there any specific foodstuffs that you find disgusting or refuse to eat?
Unless poisoned, there is no reason for me to decline what I am given.
18. If you have a favorite scent, what is it?
I have encountered many I dislike and many more which I tolerate. The smell of ink and fresh parchment, however, bring me peace when other things cannot.
19. Do you believe in god(s) or not?
I believe in the Order, the Creed, myself and my brothers.
20. Can you kill?
Have you learned nothing from what I have said? Fortune has favored my blade in all of my endeavors and will continue to do so so long as I wield it in good faith.
