Last Stargate convention

So, the gold passes to the last Stargate convention in Chicago went on sale and there already aren't many left. I'm debating. I want to go but it is soooooooooo expensive and Joe hasn't signed on yet. If it weren't so costly, I'd go even if he didn't because I love David Hewlett and Paul McGillion. Haven't completely dumped SGA. I'm a little on hiatus as my first love, SW has taken over again temporarily. And now, unfortunately I am laptop-less so EVERYTHING is on the back burner; I'm at the mercy of the rest of my household for computer time. :) (this is my husband's studio computer I'm posting from)

Even so...there's no way I could EVER afford to go, even if Joe was there. He's the only one of the "team" I haven't met yet face to face. David, Jason, and Rachel have all been at Shore Leave. Met Paul McGillion at the only Creation Con I attended, their last one in Cherry Hill, NJ. I've also met Kate H., Christopher Heyerdahl, Robert Picardo and Jewel Staite (Shore Leave). I have Joe's autograph but it was obtained for me by a friend who took my pic with her to a con in England; she also got me autographs from Kavan Smith and "Chucknician." Same with Torri; her autograph was obtained for me by another friend who took my Season 2 cast photo to Dragon Con. So I have most of the autographs. Wouldn't mind getting Mitch Pileggi's autograph, kinda round things out a bit. But I'd SO love to meet Joe in person. *sigh* Guess that's never happening unless by some miracle somebody can talk him into going to Shore Leave in Baltimore. So....there we have it. lol Sorry, I'd love to go with ya!

I haven't gotten to see or get autographs from several of those you mentioned. I'm hoping Kavan and Torri and maybe Jason will come, but who knows. Chicago is the only convention they've ever had that was close enough for me to go to. I just bought a silver ticket, so hopefully I can raise a few more bucks to go with it and find a roommate to share the room cost with. I have to go since this is the last one and Stargate Atlantis is my only real fandom - probably always will be.
