fall back

Thank god this week is over. I had two midterms that I don't think went as well as I hoped. One was 2 huge essays; the other switched it up. I think I might have done okay on the essay one. No use in complaining about school; it's going to happen one way or another.

I worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night this week and worked this afternoon for a few hours. Sheesh. At least I get off Friday at 11 and after the game this Saturday. There's a good chance I'll get out of my shell and go out Saturday night. Who knows. Anything could happen. One thing I am really excited for is Lee Joy visiting this week. He's intense. Speaking of visits, I got to see Jeff Adams today. And Matt Westfall. Those are some awesome dudes.

Holy crap. The Steelers spanked the Bengals. I am damned happy. And there's another MNF game tomorrow against the Ravens. I hope we win. That's not even the big part of tomorrow. I get to have one of those appointments that's like, "What should I do after college?" Hey, at least I know I'm not going abroad this summer. I couldn't stand to be in China for 10 weeks. Screw that. Worse case scenario, I'll be in Cbus again, but keeping up the summer tradition of spending it somewhere different for the third year in a row sounds cool. We shall see.

I think the funk I've been in was best summed up last night at work:

"This is sad that this is what our lives have become."
"Yeah." (pause) "We get paid to watch other people have fun." me
...later on that night
"I don't even know what a weekend is. I get out of class, then it's right to work."
"Yeah, you're telling me. I feel like I go to class, work out, and come into work. It sucks." me

The conversation did get better and more uplifting, but this portion highlights how much time I've been spending at work. Ah well, gotta pay the bills.
