Tonys Tonight!
Just finished watching the Tony Awards about an hour ago and Neil Patrick Harris was a great host! My first thought when I saw him is WHAT is his suit made of? It looks like really thin cloth like leather, but in some lights it looked like some kind of shiny yet matte cloth. Look, bear with me people, but I really want to know. The opening number was a series of song clips from Billy Elliot, West Side Story, Guys n Dolls and Rock of Ages. LOL They actually had Poison up there to perform with the Rock of Ages cast and Brett Michaels literally had a head banging moment when he hit his head on a prop . *snickers*
Billy Elliot won for Best Musical and among other things for Best Choreography. Not hard to see why.
Hair won for Best Revival of a Musical and after I told Angelica that they actually come out into the audience and do this at regular shows, and that the audience is invited onstage to sing/dance the last song she wants to see it, nudity and all. LOL
The 3 boys, well they all are about 14 yrs old,who played Billy were nominated and won for Best Performance by a Male Lead in a Musical.
My coverage would not be complete without this closing "11 'o Clock Number" by Neil Patrick Harris. Love him to bits. :)
