well, i've been at the enfield polls from 6 am until now (finally, a break from the hot sun!). a lot of support there for malloy, myself for lamont, nobody for lieberman or destefano. there were a couple of "vote joe" signs, but that's about it. i actually called the destefano campaign to tell them the malloy campaign was there in full force (i like 'em both so i'm not taking strong sides on that race), they said they'd send somebody out, but nobody showed up. turnout has been strong all day, no more than 5 minutes between voters. i checked in with the women running the polls right before i left, they told me we've already surpassed 33% turnout, and we only get 25% turnout in a normal primary. they're expecting 50% to 55% by the time polls close at 8. 22 news from springfield showed up and briefly interviewed me, so those of you in the CT/MA area can totally check that out tonight. voter support seems very strong for lamont and malloy, but that could be because those who don't support us are keeping their mouths shut as they walk by. either way, we've gotten a lot of positive comments from people you'd expect to be lieberman supporters, and a lot comments along the lines of "where's joe?". most interesting comment all day was a man who came out and said "i just voted for your guy. i agree with him on everything except one issue: lieberman's right about the iraq war." how's that for a one-issue candidate? things are looking good for those looking for a change. i'll be heading back to the polls after taking a break, then heading downstate to get the results with the rest of the lamont campaign. look for another update late tonight.
