day 4 and 5

Sunday was a pretty calm day. Church was pretty fun though! Everyone was so excited to see Gama. Of course that meant everyone had to meet me too. I got used to saying mucho gusto, mucho gusto, si, si, gracias, gracias, over and over. There was one where I accidentally said musto gucho, smiled and walked away, only realizing a few seconds later my embarrassing mistake. I then ran back, and yelled at them, mucho gusto mucho gusto! I accidentally said musto gucho! Then walked away again.. egh... I hope they can speak spanglish. Awkward!! ... anyways, the rest of the day went well. Gama has a very nice ward, and I could feel the spirit really strong there. Everything here is so different, but the gospel remains the same!

Monday was fun. Gama and I went to see some cool pyramids only 10 minutes from his house. As we hiked a little to get there, we passed a bunch of shops with little souvenirs, jewelry, or other random items. They all would yell at us as we walked by wanting us to stop and by things... I did not like it. I couldn't speak back to them to say no thanks, or maybe on the way back, or anything. All I could do was keep walking and let Gama talk. It was hard for me. So we finally got to the pyramids. It was really neat to see all the stone carvings and statues that would hold up the temple ceilings. They were pretty big pyramids too. There were also some arenas where they would play that hip ball game whatever its called. haha. I learned all the words while I was there, but I can't remember any at all anymore! my dumb brain. As we came back all the shop vender people started yelling at us again. We bought a few things from the first 2, but then realized there was no way we could keep buying things. One lady pulled us in, and started putting necklace after necklace after necklace in my hand. Muy bonito! she would say, and lots of other things I couldn't understand.  I would said, "no, gracias!" and "lo siento", and "no tengo muchos dineros", "no hablo espanol", and "no quiero" and everything I could think of, but she would not give up. I would try to walk away, but she kept putting things in my hand and just talking so fast to me! Gama even started talking to her telling her no, but she would not stop. I tried to find something that was cheap to buy from her, just to get her off my back, but everything was really expensive, and rather ugly. Finally we somehow got away, and as I walked away, I looked back at her and saw the saddest face. Ugh. Guilt. I know I didn't have to buy anything from them, but at the same time, I knew these people really needed the money. I felt terrible the rest of the way. As more people yelled to us, I just kept my face down, and tried not to look at any of them. I hope a really rich person goes to those pyramids and buys a ton of stuff from them.
When we came home, Gama's mom had some yummy enchiladas waiting for us. :) She makes such yummy food. I have loved every meal so far. Especially that one! Later on, we went to a rec center place nearby and played basketball and volleyball with Gama's friends. Lots of fun. :) I really liked this place. It was very big, and was mostly outside. They had lots of soccer fields, basketball courts, playgrounds with big slides, and hedge mazes. Classes were being held everywhere for boxing, and martial arts, or even just working out. They would all be outside, using regular stuff to work out with like playground monkey bars, and big tires. I really liked it. Our rec center is totally awesome, but it is almost too fancy. I liked how they use recycled items and make them perfectly useful again.
After playing we all went to get tacos. Finally. We were getting tacos. :) Gama was so excited. We sat down, and I let Gama give my order for me. He got about 10 tacos. I LOVED the tacos al pastor. so amazing good. Every taco was delicious, but those were especially yummy. I was sooo full after. Gama ordered 2 more, so we ate a total of 12 tacos, and it only cost about 7 dollars. AWeSOmE!!!! I hope we can go again soon. :)

mexico, gama
