Possible teacher job

On Thursday I have a job interview at a preschool near my house. It's called Kids Korner and the building is right next to the HS where my church meets every Sunday. (Yes my church meets in a hs auditorium - we can't afford a building to have church on Sunday's). At first I was so excited that I FINALLY got an interview. And I'm pretty sure she found my resume online because I've been emailing office and retail places my resume. This preschool is really close to my house and it would be a short drive. It's 5.8 miles and about a ten minute drive compared to one hour each morning to Sunnyvale because of traffic. I just looked at their website and they are a Christian based preschool and there's only three locations in the Bay Area.

After talking with her on the phone and making arrangments for an interview on Thursday I really began to think. Do I REALLY want this job? I know I've been complaining about the little money I earn watching Alyssa. Until I set up this interview, I didn't realize just how much I enjoy this nanny thing. She's a cute kid and her parents like me. Granted I ran late this morning and got there half an hour late but other than that her parents like me. I enjoy going to the park in the mornings with her and then in the afternoons having time to do other things. The only two pros I can think of taking this job at the preschool is the commute and getting a little more money each week. The con is having way more than one child with me, making a curriculum and preparing the work for each day. And call me crazy, but I'd miss Alyssa's two dogs too. Jake & Taylor (the dogs) get attention from Alyssa & I. Jenn and Russ are really nice but they don't give their dogs enough attention at all. The dogs get so excited when I get there and love going on walks after I put Alyssa down.

I had an interview with a family earlier this afternoon. The mom seems really nice and I met her son and his friend who's a next door neighbor. Her son just turned 8 and seems like a cool kid and her daughter is almost 5 and was with her friend next door. They have two dogs that seemed very friendly. She has to call my references and then she'll contact me to come over for one or two working interviews so the kids can get use to me with her around. It would be to babysit a few times a week possibly. The best part is it took me 10 minutes to drive there from my house and she's fine with $15/hour. There's another lady that I sent my resume too that is looking for a sitter and she emailed me back with her number. She's doing interviews and is interested in talking with me so I called and left her a voicemail. Some people may think I'm nuts for thinking all this. I mean who wouldn't want to take a job where they'd earn more money? My opinion/thoughts may change after the interview on Thursday. I may decide that I want to take that job. They want the teacher to start on April 6th. Mind you, I haven't even been offered the job yet and I'm having these thoughts about what to do. I think that I'll have to tell them thank you but no thanks. Right now that's what feels right. I so need to extra money but I also need to be doing something that I know I'm happy at right now. I'm not so sure that in three months I'll be happy at a preschool with a bunch of three year olds.

Ok I think I might go to the pool for a little before I come home and do my church stuff for Sunday. I hope everyone is doing well.
