Sick days are the best sometimes

I stayed home sick today. Which I really needed.

Last night, I asked Mandy if it would be possible for me to stay home today. She said she didn't know the schedule and she'd call Lorraine (the asst. director who had gone home already for the day) and see. A minute later she came back into the room I was in and said that Lorraine said to call her this morning at 7:30.

So this morning I got up at the time I usually do and got ready just in case. I didn't know if she would be in a nice enough mood to let me stay home or if she was going to say she needed me to go in. I looked at the board yesterday that has who's out on each day (if anyone). No one's name was written down for being out today. I've had this nasty cough for the last week or two and I've been exhausted. Luckily I got a hold of Lorraine. As soon as I told her it was me, she said, "Are you still sick?" I told her yes and I was up all night with a bad cough and felt like crap. She said ok and we said goodbye.

I put my pj's back on and crawled back into bed. I was asleep again by 8am and slept until just before 11am. Nice three hour nap - much needed. Followed by watching some tv and then I had lunch. I was asleep again a little after 1 and woke up at like 3:50. So I got a lot of sleep today which I needed. I still have a little bit of a cough but it's not as bad. I really needed it and I'm glad I called in sick. I'm one of those people that feels guilty for calling in sick. Especially since I had last Friday off for doctor appointments. And I'm leaving early on Monday for another doctor appointment. But I'm not doing a favor to myself or anyone else going to work sick. Two more days this week left of work. Then a weekend. I plan on going to get a pedicure at InSpa. Right now though, gonna have a weight watcher dessert, read and relax. Wait until I have to take my blood and go to bed. Hopefully no one will give me shit tomorrow because I stayed home. Hope you're doing well.

rest, staying home, work, sick
