HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I've been trying to find the motivation to sit here and do a post. Let's see if I'll finish it tonight or will only start it and complete it later.

So far 2008 is off to a good start. For starters, I did not have to work today so it was nice to relax at home. I have to say though, it's going to throw me off whack for the rest of the week because it does not feel like Tuesday at all. I didn't do anything special or go anywhere to ring in the new year. I came home from work yesterday (Monday), took a shower, and ate my favorite thing in the world. My mom had the day off and she made Brazilian black beans and rice. It was so out of this world I haven't had that in so long it tasted so good!!! My neighbor (Sue) gave me a Borders gift card for getting her mail and watering her plants for her while she was gone for two weeks. So today I went and spent it. I got P.S. I Love You (I still want to watch the movie) and Second Chance by Jane Green.

I have a list of new years resolutions and I'm going to try so hard to stick to each of them. It's kind of a long list. In the last few years I've only had one (to lose weight). This year, I have that resolution and others on my list. Looking at all I want to get accomplished seems a little intimidating but I'm going to give it an honest attempt. I have a little bit of a start on some of them. Here's the list and in bold are any comments I have.

*Save money
*Finish paying off debt I've started this already. I just have to finish paying off
*Read more booksI've usually been really good with reading but I've sort of slacked. Today I started reading one I bought (the P.S. I Love You)
*Eat healthier
*Join the YMCA and do laps in pool (exercise more period the end)
*Write & call people more I've written Chris (Air Force hottie for those that know about him already) Monday night and was happy he wrote me back today.
*More patience On the road and at work
*Enjoy the small things more
*Spend more time with familyGo with my mom more often to Carmel on the weekends to see my grandparents
*Take care of my room, bathroom and belongings more This weekend I am (hoping) to get started on doing a major cleaning
*Travel more - road trips in Bay Area or fly somewhere
*Less clutter - be more organized
*Buy new laptop
*Take more pictures
*Go back to school (part time) and get an AA as a court reporter I can get more money doing this and I think I'll enjoy it more. Who knows

My mom gave me the Palm Pilot she had. She doesn't use it anymore because she has a blackberry from work. Two years ago she gave me a palm that I like but the one she just gave me is a step up. So the last few days I've been organizing it and adding things to it. I can put documents from word on there so I put my resolution list on there. I can't wait to see the rheumatologist about my arthritis and psoriasis. I'm tired of scratching my back, elbows and head and I'm tired of being in pain trying to walk. I'm dreading my paycheck on Friday. I didn't work nearly as many hours the last two weeks because I left early so many times. I'll be lucky if I can afford my rent. Ugh I hope it's not as bad as I'm expecting.

Ok that's good enough for today. I'm going to go watch tv and chill out. I hope everyone is doing well.

books, shopping, new years resolution, work, new year, money
