Three days off is not enough
First of all I want to say it's very nice to see updates from a bunch of you on my friends list. :-D I want to update and not so I'm going to TRY and make this short and sweet.
This past Tuesday, we had a family member (Lise) from Denmark arrive. Well, she's not blood family but she's family. She was an exchange student with my family way back when my mom was a teenager and she's kept in touch since so she's like family. She leaves I think this coming up Tuesday or Wednesday to go back home. Today we all went to Carmel to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. Yesterday I spent about four hours making necklaces and earrings for Lise and her two daughters (Anya and Dea both of whom I have met). I made a cd for both the daughters and one for Lise's husband Roald as well. I gave it to her today - I hope they all like it. I made chocolate chip cookies this morning for my grandpa as a gift so he can have them with his afternoon coffee.
It was nice having a three day weekend. I took Friday off (unpaid) and it was nice. The weekend still went by way too fast. Tomorrow is a holiday (Columbus Day), and where I work is not officialy open. The kids are not coming in so in that sense we're closed. We have a training for all the centers in the area at our school so we still have to show up. Sucks doesn't it? I think it's dumb we're closed for a holiday yet we still have to be there. Speaking of work I can't wait to get paid I'm broke. I have to pay my cell phone bill because I'm falling behind on it. I'm so proud of myself I have one more payment for my Chase bill and that credit card will be totally paid off. I'm so happy about that. Unfortunatly I have one more bill that I haven't started paying off yet. Blah. Not looking fwd to continuing those payments.
I'm tired of being single and knowing that most of the people around me are in relationships whether it's getting married, in a serious relationship, or whatever. I'm tired of waiting - I haven't even been looking that hard either. Ok time for a shower and figure out what I'm gonna do for dinner because my mom wants soup and I don't. Maybe go to Boston Market and get a chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes on the side. Good comfort food on a fall night.
