An attempt at explaining my alternate universe
First of all, forgive my rant in the previous entry. Should I have offended you or whathaveyou...uhm...(I feel like Valentine)...I apologize. However, I will say that my opinions are my own, and that I felt it was time (given current events) to voice them, even if it was in an unorganized way. Moving on.
So today. I was really out of it during phonology. So much so that I tore out one of those note cards that come with my notebook and drew. Now, I do pay attention when I draw or write other things during class, but I know most people do not, so I kept sliding the card under stuff when attention was turned my way. Which (as some here can tell you) was often, seeing as I was sitting right next to the professor and the chalkboard. Nonetheless, I drew Tiryn from the shoulders up and I think she turned out rather good, in my humble and worthless opinion. I especially like her face. I realize that since the scan made the picture a lot bigger, one of her eyeballs looks like it's a little...weird. But meh. I think this was a bit closer to how I see her in my head, which for me is a big improvement. Imrovement. XP (See, I was paying attention in class.) Anywho.
Oh, and I like the way her horns came out too. They don't look like utter crap for once. Oh, and I tried to erase the blue lines as best I could, but bleh. Since I'm utterly obsessed: I can totally see her getting (very) frisky with Owen. Oh yes. XD (If you read that character survey thing over on dA about her, then perhaps you understand.)
Right then.
Speaking of Tiryn's hot item, I've figured out how to make her work in the Gargoyles universe. I was reading some of the FAQ over at Ask Greg, and realized that the stories I've come up with (only in my head, I've yet to write down any of this stuff as fanfic and I don't really plan on doing so anytime soon) don't work according to some of the canon stuff. So, what I've decided (though I think this was already in my head, I just never articulated it) is that the universe in which Tiryn resides is an alternate Gargoyles universe. Which is pretty much what I said when I posted my drawing of Owen and Tiryn over on dA, just not precisely in those words. Now, I suppose you could technically say that all fan created characters based on Gargoyles are in alternate Gargoyles universes of their own. Anyway, back to the one in which we find Tiryn. This one is where the universe I created (wherein lie Briar, Robin, and the rest, along with the many Worlds) and the canon Gargoyles universe from the original 66 (I think it's 66 anyway) shows smush together in my head.
Now, when they smush, I do change some canon things. I'm using that word too much. We'll just pretend it's there from now on. So, for example, Greg says Owen has a human female love intrest. In my universe, that becomes Tiryn and then Tiryn-as-Human. Oberon and Titania took the throne after Oberon's mother, Queen Mab. In mine, Oberon and Titania are not the ones from the show, per se. Just like Puck, they are and they aren't. Because in my universe, Oberon and Titania have ruled over Faerie forever. No one was before them and they do have some actual biological children. Right, we'll leave it at that for now until I feel the urge to explain more. Does that even make sense? Eh.
I was outside mowing the lawn from 1:30-6:30 today. With two breaks for reading for a bit in there. Needless to say, I am quite a bit redish. And I didn't want to get my shoes all green from the grass so I wore my slippers and now I have massive blisters on the bottom of my feet and smallish ones on my hands from raking for hours. I felt kinda sexy out there in my shorts and bathing suit top, mowing (it's that push one I bought yesterday) and getting all sweaty. XP Although I know I'm not at all sexy. I go into alter ego mode during these times.
Well, now I'm going to watch CSI: and write an essay on Ursula K. LeGuin's "Mountain Ways," and then rewrite my essay in Norwegian entitled: "En gang da jeg var syk." Oh, and try to stop feeling sick. This could be the result of the five hours of sun. Head sore, eyes sore...meh.
Dude...I had a dream the other night that Kevin was here...and...yeah. Huh.
