“Oy, head out of the clouds, pal. I’ll have to start calling you Fireflight,” Streetwise chuckled, walking back from the stereo he had set up. Soft slow music played in the background, soothing tense nerves he hadn’t realized existed. “Whatcha thinking about anyway?”

“Nothing,” Air Raid grinned back. “So are we gonna do this or not?”

“Just waiting on you,” the red and white held out a hand to him, inviting him closer. Perceptive optics noticed a slightly nervous fidget. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” the other repeated. “Just… isn’t this music kinda… cozy?”

The interceptor shrugged, optics glowing a deep amused indigo. Wait, since when had he ever noticed the shade of his friend’s optics? “It’s what the humans were listening to when I saw them. Besides, if I wanted to learn how to do this fast, I could’ve just asked Jazz. He’s the master at that.” Suddenly Air Raid didn’t want him to ask Jazz. Streetwise’s grin widened, “not afraid of a little dance, are you eaglet?”

The taunt, as well as the pet name, hit its mark and the Aerialbot drew up to his full height. “I most certainly am not. C’mere…” He took the offered hand and drew Streetwise close, their bodies nearly touching. “Now, how did they do this?”

“Like this…” the slightly smaller ‘bot shifted a little and arranged it so Air Raid had a hold on the other’s waist and a hand.

Then they began to sway. It was awkward at first as neither of them had ever danced before. Yet neither would they be deterred, and the movements gradually began to smooth out. And with the learning process nearly over with, the pair became much more aware of the other as they moved. The music was perhaps too ‘cozy,’ but neither seemed to mind it anymore.

Finally the silence began to bear too heavily on the younger of the two and Streetwise felt the need to break it. “Thanks by the way, Raid. I know you hate doing stuff like this just ‘cause I ask you to. I always get you roped into my schemes.”

“Heh, don’t worry about it, Streets.” It really wasn’t so bad after all. Holding the interceptor like this, seeing the excited sapphire of his optics when he agreed to it… it was worth a little bit of lost dignity. It made him feel… at home. Gently he squeezed Streetwise’s hand and he saw a look of puzzlement cross his face. “What would life be without getting roped into your schemes now and then? Besides, it’s not so bad. They have their perks too.”

^_^;; I think I might have overdone it a bit. *blinks* and since when did Raid try to sneak into the headspace? O_o;; I didn't mean for the whole thing to be in his POV.

*lol* Don't worry 'bout Raid sneaking in... I'm sure he'll "sneak out" just as easily. ^_~ Sometimes I find, in thinking up/writing fics... I'll be speaking in the PoV of the 'non-headspace' character too... ^^; *hug*
