Sideswipe was generally not one to grumble about what assignment he was given. Yeah he was often given the more menial or tougher jobs, but the way he saw it, better do it yourself than let someone else do it half as good.

But this was the absolute Pits.

Beach patrol was one of those 'love it or hate it' assignments. Mechs like Beachcomber and Groove and those others that loved this sort of thing were usually given the route. Yet after last week's battle, the small geologist was currently residing in the Med Bay, and the scout had been ordered on vacation with his four brothers. So who did Prowl decide was perfect for the beach route?

His favorite red Lamborghini, that’s who.

With a grumble he kicked some sand that scattered in the sea breeze. Bored, he watched it, finding it the most interesting thing he’d seen all day. As he watched the sand finally settle back to the ground, the scarlet warrior noticed a slight outcropping over the ocean made up of rocks and sand. There were a lot of seagulls flying around over there, a large enough number to make him curious enough to check it out. After all, it wasn’t like he was going to fight any epic battles where he was.

He waded out to the rocks, trying not to scare the things away from whatever was holding their interest. It wasn’t until he got closer that he saw they were actually nesting.

And it wasn’t until he got closer that they cared that he knew they were nesting.

Up until this point the most birds affected him was if one targeted his recently cleaned glossy hood, or Sunny’s on a more entertaining value. Now and then an Aerialbot would get one stuck in their turbines. Ratchet always loved cleaning the results of that out.

Never before had he considered one an actual threat to his life.

Like a swarm of disgruntled Seekers they came, diving and pecking and squawking. He struggled to fight his way through the cloud of white angry feathers, waving his arms and shouting. They chased him all the way to the shore, up the beach, and all the way to the ocean-side highway before finally calling off the attack.

Victorious, they flew back to their roosts, leaving behind a battered and white-splattered lambo.

Sideswipe cursed as he sped on down the road, spitting out feathers from his exhaust. That was it. He was never taking beach patrol ever again.

*DIES laughing!* XD Oh this is priceless! Poor Siders! XD *snickers* Finding Nemo had it right... Seagulls are large, fierce buggers! That, and/or just annoying. @_x; Perhaps pretty to look at, yes... but when they get it in their mind to harass you... oi. x.x;

.... guess the seagulls should be thankful it was Sideswipe on patrol, and not Sunstreaker! ^_^;;
