*hugs and sympathises* Do you have access to journal databases for articles? They're bloody useful for references, though finding the right articles can take a while.

I do. That's my next stop. However I have started writing my essay and am still stuck on the inro. *headdesk* also, hopefully I have managed to do my first reference properly. First reference being my text book. I've spent the past hour and a half typing and re-typing and intro that is still only 150 words long. *sigh*. Good thing I've given myself all of tonight and most of tomorrow to finish this.

If you want some help with essay structure I'm more than happy to offer it. Essays are arcane beasts, difficult to wrangle if you're not used to them :p
I'll be home all night, and can arrange time tomorrow morning as well.

Cool! It's just starting that is irritating. Can e-mail you what I've written so far? It would help if I could contact someone periodically to make sure I'm doing it right. Would rather not do it in person 'cause I have a tendency to procrastinate when not actively at computer typing. Heh heh, I guess this is a type of procrastination too.

Go for it. Also email me any drafting or plans for what you're going to write, so I have an idea of context for the intro.

I'm good at keeping others from procrastination, not so great at avoiding it myself (she says, looking at a History reading...)

Um... drafting? I don't really draft, just write as I go, the re-write, then re-write again.

That's alright, I just want to know what you'll be writing about, so I can see if the intro is directed well.

Having an overall plan for what you're going to write is pretty much essential for writing a cohesive essay, in my experience - keeps you from rambling and getting distracted or off-topic.

Good luck

I hope by now you are further through it.

All I can suggest is do lots of reading before you start - make extensive use of tabs and highlighters, then start with a dozen or so points and fill in the rest...and as armageddonriver says - do your intro last.

On a tangent, EmilyJane that is the most useful animated gif I have ever seen.
