So, Thursday we take my darling little Skittles to the vet and learn she has a respitory infection and we are given meds to give to her. No big deal... Supposedly.
Thursday, dose one: Eric volunteers to help give her the liquid meds and I agree. After wrestling to get her to take the meds the task is done.
Friday, dose 2: Eyes ointment is a bit of problem and she again wrestles with the liquid.
Friday, dose 3: My new self memo is never let Brian help me medicate a cat. He does not know to hold the paws. So it took Eric, Brian and Heather to medicate a kitten no bigger than my arm from the elbow to the wrist.
Friday, dose 4: Eye meds only, done in about a minute. How? I sat her down on a stool and held her against me while a pried her eyes open to put the ointment in.
Saturday, dose 5: liquid meds only. Took under a minute and then I put her back to bed. (it was 5:30 this morning)
From the sounds of it Eric didn't have much trouble with the kitten for the next liquid and eye ointment dosage.
Current score: Skittles 3, Eric 2, Me 2
Bath time, the true adventure. I now have 2 puncture marks in my arm that look like a miniature vampire bit me. That would be where Skittles decided to bite and hang from my arm so that she would be pulled from the water in the sink.
I do believe I should take Eric's advice and invest in chainmail gloves for when I bath the kitten.
Anyway, the full score for the week is as follows:
Skittles 4
Eric 2
Me 2
I think the kitten is winning...
Oh, and she has a very strong and healthy bite.
