So I think everybody knows by now that I took on a job at Zion Lutheran Child care center as a head preschool teacher. Well it's not going so well. Not that I'm not prepared or anything, it's that the kids are out of hand. I have 12 kids in class (sometimes a few less if I am lucky) and most of them are disobediant, off the wall, and undiciplined (I am not exagerating....I can think of three of the kids who actually do what I ask them). I don't know what to do. They will not listen. I am really tired of leaving work exausted and irritated everyday. I must say that this morning (I teach every morning from 8-12) did go better than yesterday because I decided to start giving out Award certificates for kids who listened well, but I still have tons of problems in that class. And today was one of my days to stay for the afternoon until 2, and the kids were horrible then, especially the four year olds (we all come together after lunch, both preschool classes, for naptime and gym time). I just don't know what to do what some of these kids. I have never had kids not respond to any of my methods like...ever. Oh well...I suppose I will figure it out eventually.......
