Here I sit typing on a messed up laptop while waiting for VS.net to install. It's a lovely Dell (which I will never purchase a new laptop from again) that immediately began showing symptoms of PMS (or perhaps leprosy (& even that doesn't sound right *shrug*)). Next to it lies it's replacement. I'd be using it, but can't get it to read the Windows XP Pro CD to install (brand new, no scratches yet). Lovely. If I could contact someone in India (er, Dell) with a decent English accent, it wouldn't be that big a deal. Unfortunately I don't think that's possible. Earlier this summer I spent 2.5hrs, made 3 phone calls, & spoke with 8 ppl just to get the LCD replaced (that was problem one). I'm not looking forward to explaining this one.

As for the installation of vs.net, I'm grading for a vb.net course. There are only 37 students enrolled, so it shouldn't be too much work. The prof posts very specific requirements which should make the grading process rather simple. Of course, what should I expect from ppl that can't figure out what a zip file is or where the source is stored?

There's more I could complain about, but... Erg. Think I'll go work on my Magic decks, play Tropico 2 for awhile, or crack the calc text.
