♥♥♥Xylo♥♥♥ Thank you so much for your kind words - especially as I really deserve a cold shoulder for treating you like the cobbler's child.
This story is dominating my life to the exclusion of almost everything else (but see suggestion below). I can see it more clearly everytime I open the file - and a lot of the time when I cannot; I recently bought a voice recorder which downloads to my pc so that when I walk (I have to make myself, twice a day for health's sake!) I can burble the stuff aloud AND have a record when I get back - ideas for dialogue etc. no longer diffuse into the atmosphere for want of memory. (In case you are wondering, yes I meet an occasional dog walker but otherwise my meanderings are not yet likely to cause my incarceration by the men in white coats.)
I suspect I know how you missed it - I always paste things here privately to begin with, because the change of format means I can pick up typos, inelegant phrasing etc. (Yes, I am. *sigh*) When I have finished finnicking, I delete and paste to a new screen (not sure if re-date would work? *has only just learned how to use flilters* Try checking your flist for the 26th, but heed the warning. Still finnicking so not public - crit welcome!) I forgot to do that with this one, so this would have taken itself way back into the yesterdays of people's flists when I made it public. Duh! It was so roundly ignored that I began to think I was talking to myself (which I do a lot, anyway, see above...) until the reason occurred to me. Double Duh! And yes, Notabluemaia is a wonderful person, as well as being a generous friend, a great beta and a fine writer herself.
Finished? Finished?? I thought the story was getting pretty close to being "finished" when it was about 18,000 words - you have already seen more than that. Day 1 itself has a least 10,000 to go, and there is some lengthy stuff on the other days, before the inevitable denouement...
