I can't really remember what all i was read as a kid. There were The Chronicles of Narnia which I loved and still do love. And there is a part of me that dreams of someday running across a kind, wise, talking lion who will let me snuggle him.

I know I was read Dr. Seuss and Where the Wild Things Are. I did like A Wrinkle in Time. And there was one about a girl and her brother who lived in a Museum in New York . . . I can't remember what that one was. There was a silly book about poo that my uncle loved to read to us. Goodnight Moon. The Berenstien Bears books.

I'm thinking The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy could be good for a "big" book to read. It's never to early to introduce silliness and absurdity! As far as I remember there isn't really anything objectionable.

Oh! And of course there is Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking Glass.

I also wish there had been Harry Potter when i was a kid. There is also a series called "A Series of Unfortunate Events" I only read the first one so far but I very much enjoyed it. They are for kids but they are a bit dark.
