yay!
i'm not a felon anymore! i had my hearing this morning and it went swimmingly! i actually never even met with the judge. i sat in the waiting area for about 20 min while my lawyer bargained with the district attorney and they reduced both of my felony charges to one summary offense with only a $400 fine :)
annoyingly, my parents decided they wanted to come to my hearing to support me. my parents haven't been to indiana since i moved here in 2004. i was really hoping to avoid them visiting until after nicky and i were married. but i guess this is close enough. we cleansed the house of anything too incriminating. but that was just one more stress that i didn't need.
anyways. everything's back on schedule. i'm not going to have to get married in prison. now i just need to get the damned government people to reinstate my unemployment and we'll be ready to roll. they decided that since i lost my job at the hobby shop that i no longer deserved my very essential unemployment checks. so that's $650 down the drain from my last claim two weeks ago. and today i was supposed to get another $650 and it hasn't been issued to my account yet. i've been paying my bills lately with wedding money and it totally blows. i'll tell you what, if meghan, jess, and jess hadn't been so generous with their early wedding present, i would be totally screwed right now! so, thank you thank you thank you again, girls. you are the bestest friends i could ever ask for!!!
