So Howard Dean won. He's the new chair of the Democratic National Committee. So let's go through some of the good and bad things
Good:
-Movitative and passionate leader
-Great fundraiser
-Builds grassroots networks
-Strong message
-Won't run for President
Bad:
-Seen as liberal or extremely liberal
-Might alienate moderates
-Tempermental, or at least seen as such
-Will have to be part of a team leading the party who didn't want him, Reid was outspoken against him
-Clear and visible target for any Republican candidates, presidential, congressional, etc.
So what does all this mean? the democratic party as a lot of work to do. As it stands, the political future of the party is still undecided. Building grassroots is certainly what he need for the long run, better candidates and smarter campaigns. We need to reenergize the youth and activists, and regain traditional consitituencies, catholics for one, and new over new ones, like latinos. tI guess it is redundant to say the next 4 years are important, because really, its not just the next 4 years, but the next 4 years and the next 4 years, etc. So, let's move on. I guess i haven't made a funny entry in a while...hmmm
this will have to do
