Das Bunnies...

Um, randomness is random. This bunny won't let me go. :-P

You left me to die.

Zack saw those blue eyes every night in his dreams. Eyes a little too bright, a little too shy, a little too intense.

Always accusing.

You left me to die.

Cloud hated Nibelheim. He had always hated Nibelheim. Why had Zack convinced him to go? To prove a point? To whom?

He had wanted to be a hero. He figured the best way to be a hero was to be a hero in someone's eyes.

He had been a hero in Cloud's eyes.

Had been.

You left me to die.

Arms wrapped tightly around his chest, Zack silently stood by Sephiroth's side as they watched the footage of the latest reactor being destroyed. One camera had been left alone: a fluke, the Turks had assumed. Zack knew better.

Mouth dry, Zack watched the new leader of Avalanche oversee the planting of the bomb. The bomb had been smaller than usual, designed to take out the core functions of the reactor while minimizing casualties. Apparently, Avalanche was growing more health-conscious.

The leader had looked away from his companion once. One hand casually on his hip, the other resting on the hilt of his Buster Sword (and that still made Zack flinch), the blond had looked at the camera once.

You left me to die, Cloud Strife had mouthed, the eerie glow of his eyes visible even with the shaky footage.

Then he and his large companion had left, leaving the reactor to go up in flames.

It had been lucky that the one camera had survived, Reno had commented, looking smug. Now they knew the face of Avalanche's mysterious new leader.

Zack knew better.

You left me...
