So I started my first day of the Java programming course today!
I haven't participated in full time education for around four years now and it's kind of liberating to be back. The hours are going to be heinous, 12 hour days on top of home study and other little chores and responsibilities but I'm really, really glad that this is happening.
For those of you who are new to my flist I did my Bachelor's degree in genetics. I loved the theory of the science but wasn't to keen on the labs so I decided against post grads. Since then I've done door to door sales for our local digital TV provider (for roughly a year) and had a brief stint in Slovakia in the international conferencing area but it was very, very brief because of visa issues.
It's been four years since I finished Varsity and I've yet to find full time employment. I couldn't even get interviews for minimum wage jobs such is the situation over here. This course in through the national employment agency though so I'm very hopeful that it will lead to something good! Or at the very least palatable :P
