This, sadly, was as far as I ever got on Chapter 4.
The Paradise Academy
Chapter 4
Monica was an Egyptian princess. She arrived on a palanquin carried by a quartet of slaves, with two retainers walking beside her waving palm fronds. Any one of the six attendants could have put the finest of the Academy's physical specimens to shame, but Monica bore no interest in any of them. She looked past them-- and straight past Prince Mohinder-- as though they simply weren't there.
It was that lack of attention, more than anything, that intrigued Mohinder. Well, that and the fact that Monica was beautiful. Bedecked in gold, with cat's eyes and a perfect cupid's-bow mouth, she towered over her entourage like a decadent goddess perched on a cloud.
"Shush," she said before Mohinder could utter a single word.
He was so taken aback, he had to stop and stammer before he could muster up the sort of sharp protest that usually would leap from his lips. "Your majesty, I..."
"Shh!" Her eyes, so coldly piercing, had darted elsewhere, and he realized she was following a noise. A rustle in the bushes just to the side of the pathway. The black-lined lids narrowed, and she pursed her mouth. Another rustle. Mohinder turned and gestured to his own guards to uncover the intrusion. But Monica lifted one elegantly painted hand and stilled them without a sound. And then she spoke.
"Come on out, pretty thing," she cooed. "I see you hiding in there."
And a blonde head of hair parted the bushes. Mohinder's eyes widened. Claire.

Specs, if you would like to hear about any of the other things I had planned for this, let me know... but I'm sorry to say I don't think it'll go any further.
