Two days ago my boss came into my office and asked me what I was doing. I said "working on my resume", she said "oh, good job keep working on that.". HA - she didn't even try to give me something else to work on. So for the past 3 days I've been working on my resume, writing cover letters, and looking up jobs that I want to apply for. I can't believe I'm graduating in DECEMBER, and since there’s no way in hell I'm going for a PHD I guess this is the end of the road education wise. Despite really wanting to stay in Michigan the coolest job I found so far is in New York. The title is "puppy program manager". DOES THAT NOT SOUND LIKE THE BEST JOB EVER!? We'll see what happens and if they're willing to wait until December.

Next week I'm getting out of the office and working in the zoo hospital/quarantine areas. Totally excited for that - I actually get to be back with some animals! I know right now in quarantine they have spider monkeys, baby goats, a few snakes, and some duck species so that will be fun. Holla.

Work aside life is okay. I'm not exactly fond of spending my summer alone in Grand Rapids away from all of my favorite people but my resume is looking amazing and I'm going to leave here with an awesome reference. Plus I love getting to see the few friends that I do have in the area. I'm house/dog sitting for my boss (the assistant director of the Zoo!) next week and I'm really excited to get out the house I'm living in - hopefully it will break up my week some.

Brian and I and our animals are stellar. I'm back in E.L. every weekend so at least we see each other semi-regularly. Our weekends are usually full of fun too since its our only 2 days to be with each other. Last weekend we went out to dinner, saw a movie (DO NOT GO AND SEE THE HAPPENING!), picnicked, went to a water park, got ice cream, made shrink-e-dinks (don’t ask), and walked around campus at night time. Ha - fun. Anxious to start wedding planning after this summer and do all that jazz. My mom is doing okay - starting radiation next week but happy since she doesn't have to have chemo. My cousins having a graduation party this weekend so hopefully everyone will be able to make it and I can see my family!

Guess that’s it…I’m going to write a cover letter now explaining why I’m capable of managing puppies. Heh.
