yo

So I just got back form Port Angelas where I was visiting Lisel!! Bridget and I went up tpgether and came back together. On the way up we got stuck behind a dumbass who was going like 35mph when the speed limit was 55mph. We couldn't pass either because we didn't want to die dude to it beign really dark, and we were two behind the car which had a huge train of cars following it...ILEGAL!!! Besides that my whole time in Port Angelas was awesome. We went to Lake Crescent where I worked on getting rid of my farmer's tan while Lisel and Bridget swam. We then went out to eat at a yummy Indian restaurant and after that Bridget and I had to go home. I wish I lived in Port Angelas! I love the small town communnites and have always wished Ihad grown up in one. I think the life perspective one gets from living in a town like Port Angelas is one of a kind and creates some of the most amazing people, for example the one and only Lisel Murdoch.

Now going back in time...

On tuesday the activities coordinator from my job (waiter a University House, a retirement/eldery community in Wallingford) calls me up and asks if I can bring in a music stand for someone who is performing on thursday. I then ask who is performing, she answers, HILARY HAHN!!!!!! To say the least, I freaked out and I probably sounded like a crazed lunatic for the rest of the phone call. Apprently the owners of ERA Care, a organization that runs a bunch of retirement communities knew her and got her to come play. Suffice to say, the concert was Amazing! The setting was really intimate becasue it was basically a private concert just for the residents which number around 120. She played Beethoven's 3rd violin sonata, Ysaye's violin solo #1 and Enescu's sonata for violin and piano. Each piece was incredible, but I liked the Ysaye and the Enescu the most. I guess it was her first time performing the Enescu. I still can't believe she came just to play for University House. When I left I defintely had a "I can't believe that just happened" moment.

On another note

I found out there was some 70's rock band that used bassoons and krumhorns!!! I forget the name now though I think the band was called Gryphon.
