I'm not a huge fan of Sig & Roy, but it *IS* a shame about what happened. Well, let me put it this way:
Tigers put on show for the enjoyment of pasty-white America is not exactly the greatest existence for them. On the other hand, they might have been spending their wild lifetimes running from Chinese people wanting to cut their balls off for virility. Who knows. Either way, I still think tigers/lions would be happier in a zoo, and apparently the "new guy" thinks so, too.
HOWEVER, Sigfried and Roy *ARE* Las Vegas. I mean, they're glittery, showy, flamboyant (in every sense of the word) and they're exactly what that little desert burg is all about. I really do hope Roy pulls through because it's an awful thing to happen to someone. By the way, I saw the Reuters photos of the "candlelight vigil" in front of the hospital...and MY favorite magician/comedian "The Amazing Jonathan" was there. He rules because he's crazy.
As for the Rush comment: well, I can't possibly imagine what was going through Rush's mind when he made that comment. He's been in the media too long to know better. Quite frankly (and I hate to say this) but I really do think there's some credence to the prescription drug stories about Rush...only opiates can make you THAT stupid. (Not that I'm a fan of Rush, but hey...he walked into that lynching).
