Weird weekends
It's been a very strange last few days. On Friday I found out my boss is leaving - everyone around the office is very surprised as she's been with the company for ages and no-one seemed to know this was coming. I was asked if I'm going to apply, which I am, but I haven't quite got used to the idea of her leaving yet.
This was followed by a drinks party in the office on Friday night, at which I drank far too much of the free alcohol provided and thus was far too drunk by the time I made it to Lu's birthday party. Fortunately I was wise enough to realise that I was never going to make it to Shinky Shonky, made my excuses and left with some of my faculties still intact. Still, I think she was happy with the Marvel Super Heroes Top Trumps I got her.
Most of the weekend was then spent nursing an upset stomach (a combination of alcohol and something I ate that didn't agree with me).
Not much happened yesterday but today I've had to deal with the internet being broken all day (I managed to do all the work I could, read the paper, finish my book, and do the crossword before we got it back at about 3.30). And I still managed to get all the work done I needed to in about an hour and a half - if only I could work that efficiently every day.
This morning I also picked up an unknown parcel that wouldn't fit through my letterbox. Mysteries like that are always good. It turned out to be a set of poker chips and cards that I'd sent away for as part of a beer promotion a while ago and forgotten all about.
All this and I've still hardly written anything for my quiz next week. Never mind, I suppose it'll all happen this weekend. Now I have broadband, surfing the internet for questions should be easier as well.
