'god help us all'
so, watchmen is supposedly awesome, and with a fantastic cast, a fantastic director, awesome cinematography etc etc.
however, when you watch this:
on the big screen, there is a huge difference. it's awe-inspiring okay, the trailer, when you watch it in a cinema. especially with the smashing pumpkins going less electric and leaning towards sane in the background (srsly, 'the beginning of the end of the beginning' is way better than 'the end in the beginning in the end'. yes they are both song titles.). i think the part that really made this trailer fantastic when the screen is 20 times your size is the comedian's funeral, with the american flag and then it goes back to him at vietnam. everyone was like 'inhale breath in awe'.
fact! the song wasn't created for watchmen. it was the soundtrack for batman and robin. yes, the batman movie with arnold s aka terminator as mr ice or something. undoubtedly the most confusing villian out of all the movies. i think it works better for watchmen, with all the depressing lyrics and all.
