(no subject)
My goodness, it's been far too long without an update from me. Not like you care, but I am ashamed at having neglected livejournal.
Well the past few days have been rather stressful for reasons that I won't go into. YEsterday Courtney and I went candle pin bowling (or whatever you wierdos call it). Niether of us had ever played it before or had any idea what we were doing. Here are a few reasons why this kind of bowling is much cooler than regular bowling:
*Instead of a heavy ball with holes that you stick your fingers in (which are always either too loose or too tight), you basically heave a little bocci ball down the lane (spelling questionable, but you know what I mean).
*You get three chances to knock down all the pins instead of two.
*You don't have to wait for the pins to be lifted, cleared, and replaced before you throw your next ball, thus allowing for angry heaving of balls down the lane one after another.
*You actually seem to have a better shot of getting pins down if you throw the ball standing backwards and between your legs.
*They had awesome neon bowling shoes (ok, this is specific to this one place, but it was still cool).
*We have no idea what is a good score in this game, so we were always pleased with ourselves.
*The dude gave up bumpers that had awesome flashing red lights on them.
Drunk men in their fifties kept wandering over to us from the bar, as we were the only ones bowling. It was amusing and disturbing. We played two games and we both won one, always beating the other by 5 points. It was a good time.
COME SEE THE WAITING ROOM!!!! Scott Sheldon's One Act that he wrote and directed. Tonight at 7 in Veneble. Come on!!! There's a whole lot of awesome people in it that you know you want to see. I'm running crew, which means I get to move 1/4 of a couch.
