OOC: Survey

Dec 11, 2009 05:52

Stolen from gardenerofgaia because it looked like fun. Behold, spoilers.

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Myuria is tall, sleek, and curvaceous. She's a bit athletic, having trained in fighting with staves, but her most noticeable features are probably right on her chest.

2. How old is she? 23 as of last month.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She has good posture, walking and standing up straight. Good posture suits her - she doesn't need any more back problems than she's already got.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? A broken heart isn't a physical illness! Other than that, her training keeps her in good shape.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Myuria is graceful. It's not the kind of grace a rich, upper class person, but rather the grace of someone who is confident in her movements and her own skill.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? Myuria is smokin' fine, and she knows it. She considers her physical beauty to be an asset, knowing that certain parts of her figure can be rather distracting, and holds it over people when she can. Growing up, it took her a lot of time to get used to being valued for her looks. She was insecure about it, since her breast size ballooned at an age where boys were definitely taking notice. As she grew older, she began to look at herself and her physical beauty as a strength and, if need be, as a weapon. While she flaunts that beauty in front of others to keep people out of reach, she has a greater respect for those who can see more to her than her looks. All in all, her looks are something she takes a lot of pride in.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? She has a light skin tone, and she does the best she can to keep a good complexion in Luceti. She has very few scars, but her skin is covered in various places with the tattoos necessary for her to use symbology.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Myuria has long, straight pink hair that can be a little wavy at the ends. She likes to keep it soft and healthy as best she can.

9. What color are her eyes? Turquoise.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Like all Morphus, she has really long ears, with multiple piercings. Like I mentioned, she has the pink symbology tattoos, and I think her breasts are always noteworthy.

11. What are her chief tension centers? Her shoulders and her lower back giver her the most trouble, as do the front pads of her feet.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Myuria loves flashy. She dresses to accentuate her features, though it's hard to coordinate colors with pink hair sometimes. She loves girly fashion, but most would say she dresses like a slut. This is probably true, as she's usually fairly vigilant about the people she meets and dressing scantily makes it easier to use her looks and presence to get what she wants. When she's on a mission as a Morphus, however, she goes with clothing that is a lot more durable.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? She does her best to get fitted clothes, and has needed them for her adult life. Form-fitting on a body like hers usually doesn't come from commercial clothing.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Pretty much. The difference is in the make of it. She wears more casual stuff when she's on En II, but she wears little wherever she goes.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Panties, preferably cute ones. She's not that much of a hooch, really!

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Like this.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? When she's flirting, she has a definite husk to her voice. She talks smoothly and comfortably otherwise.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? I don't think so.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? I don't think she speaks other languages because the Morphus have translators.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Not that I can think of.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She's good with impromptu speaking*. Like anything else, if all else fails, flirt.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? She's normally eloquent, but talking about Lucien will get her quiet and uncomfortable fast. Anything to do with her grief can be a bad area.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? I'd say a little bit of both. The Morphus as a civilization are 3 billion years old, and they're positively teeming with knowledge. There are times where she shares theories with Bacchus, the other Morphus in the main group, and as a field agent of the Morphus, she needs enough knowledge to keep her head on her shoulder on underdeveloped planets, either by herself or with a partner. I'd say she's fairly intelligent, but not a brainiac.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She likes to stick to her intuitions, and can be fairly impulsive. However, she does take the time to stop and think on deeper issues.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? She's definitely a more intuitive and emotional character, though she tries to mask this with her sexuality. As a young girl, she grew up with very romantic ideals. She wanted to be an adventurous girl, a damsel in distress only because she put herself there, with a charming man to love her and to be right there with her (not necessarily save her) when she got in too deep. Young Myuria had a lot of fairy tale dreams, but with Lucien's death, a lot of them have been shattered. She has a practical side, which has been threatening to overtake her more affectionate side in her grief. Most of the time, she tries to balance them out.

4. What kind of education has the character had? In a civilization like that of the Morphus, I can only imagine her education to be excellent and rather in-depth, especially once she decided to become a field agent**. I figure she went through the Morphus's standard educational process, then to a school more adept at tailoring her towards her line of work.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? She is an adept symbologist (mage), and her elemental leanings tend toward lightning, ice, and darkness. She is also an adept healer, and one of two characters who can cast Resurrection in the game. Her Item Creation specialty in the game is Compounding, which is basically combining natural and chemical ingredients to make potions and elixirs. Post-game, she's rather skilled at it. In SO4, every character has a knowledge of a specific type of enemy - Myuria is versed in Demonology***. I would probably put things of a sexual nature on the list, just because she likes going too far if she can.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Definitely an extrovert.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? She has a seemingly easygoing, somewhat smug nature. Underneath her cool outward nature is an undercurrent of emotions, and when she feels strongly about something, her mood swings can be nasty (see: the time she tried killing Crowe). If she can be calmed down, she's can be pretty reasonable.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? She acts relaxed, but she's generally skeptical of new people. Myuria likes to be in control of things, so if she doesn't relax quickly, she at least tries to set up things to go by her own rules. She's generally flirtatious/teasing at first, and if the flirting doesn't hold weight, she'll relax and get into more normal conversation.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Act. Myuria likes to get involved.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Myuria will bring the smack down.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She's a bit if a sadist, I think. There are times on the Calnus where she gladly stand by while the resident derps cause chaos. However, in normal conversation, sexual humor is easiest for her to go with. Wordplay is always appreciated, however.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? I don't think so.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Her marriage to Lucien, and subsequently, his death soon afterward.

14. What does she fear? Getting too attached to people and then losing them, as well as the emotional deconstruction that comes from the grief resulting from that.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations? She wants to be happy, like Lucien wished her to be.

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? How much of an emotional wreck she really is. Now that she isn't cramped in with everyone on the Calnus, she's gotten better at hiding herself when she needs to cry.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. Pretty unremarkable, from my speculation. Her mother told her lots of fairy tales and helped instill that love of romance and fate within her. Her father was supportive to an extent, but I think he split from her mother at some point, thus driving Myuria to be skeptical of men.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Not that I'm aware of.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Not as far as I know. There's very little on Myuria's family.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Since he arrived in Luceti, she's developed a strong relationship with Draco Malfoy. After their adventures in Occlumency lessons and poking around each other's heads (on accident), they have become quite close and Myuria regards Draco as a little brother of sorts. She's very protective of him because she's seen the kind of trouble his attitude and his big mouth can get him into. She thinks he can't really hurt her, so she's pretty immune to his snippiness. She's been helping him deal with the influx of people from the Wizarding World and the repercussions of that.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Myuria decided to respond to Draco's first entry when he arrived, and they've been talking ever since. Her other closest friend, oddly enough, is Crowe F. Almedio. Crowe's ship was too late to stop the attack on Myuria and Lucien's, and as a result, Crowe is the only person she knows who was present at Lucien's death. After seeing his transmission from the escape pod she'd been placed in, Myuria assumed Crowe had killed her husband and chased him across the universe to try and kill him. She found him after joining Edge's crew, but when they finally met, Crowe revealed that he'd actually tried to save Lucien. He gave Myuria a recorder containing Lucien's dying message, something Crowe was unable to understand until Bacchus loaned him a translator. Myuria couldn't bring herself to kill him then, and she was grateful for the closure of Lucien's final words. After the events of SO4, she has forgiven him, and after she arrived to Luceti, they formed a much easier friendship over several months.

6. Does she have other close friends? Aerith is probably the next closest friend she has, since they've trained together and talk occasionally. Arumat and Lymle count too, since they were with her on the Calnus.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? For all of her apparent charm, Myuria is not good at making friends. She can get along and socialize just fine, but she has difficulty opening up to others and rarely gets into deeper friendships. This is really her own fault for not being able to swallow her own pride.

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Her friends, since her true family isn't here.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Married and widowed, just the once. Lucien's death shook her entire world, and she's still in the process of putting the pieces back together. She has a lot of personal issues stemming from this, since she's loved and lost at such a young age. In the game, friends of hers try to talk to her about dreams they had. Myuria dismisses one girl who wanted to form a band with her, and when another teases her about believing in fate and the idea of being reunited with one's true love in another life, Myuria goes quiet and avoids discussing the matter.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Sort of? It's still coming together, and they're taking it slow.

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? I'm not sure who her first crush was, but it was a boy in school, before puberty really hit her. Currently, she's developed a bit of a crush on Crowe and is trying to make sense of it.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Most importantly, she wants a man who can lover her for who she truly is, as opposed to what she looks like. She loves charm, chivalry, good looks, and long hair. If he can keep up with her sexual banter and not be flustered/overwhelmed by it, he earns major points. And if he can sweep her off her feet (not an easy task)? Sold!

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? Sadly, no. She regrets that she and Lucien hadn't gotten around to that.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? She considered Arumat as a rival for a little bit, but now they just bicker with each other in a weird way. Her enemies are the Grigori and by proxy, the Cardianon (who were controlled by them). The Cardianon were the true killers of her husband.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? I would put her as a one on the Kinsey scale. She's not repulsed by homosexuals and in her teenage years probably thought about other girls once in a while, but otherwise, she's pretty darned straight.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? Myuria is very sexually aware. For all that she talks and teases about it, it's a very complicated subject for her. She craves good, meaningful intimacy, and does enjoy sex when she can actually get it. There is a HUGE division between her sexuality in the flirtatious games she plays with others and the sexuality she displays in the bedroom. She prefers sex to be an emotional experience.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? For all that she knows about sex and kinkiness, she's very vanilla. She likes being sweet-talked in bed, and getting her body as well as her ego stroked. She doesn't like being objectified in the bedroom, and if she feels unappreciated as a woman, she will break things off without qualm.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? She is a Scorpio, almost to a T. From what I calculated, she's a Yin Wood Goat in Chinese astrology, but she doesn't really fit it well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? Before Lucien's death, she did believe in fate and the idea of souls being connected to one another. She's mildly spiritual, but experience with "Gods" has convinced her that the only supernatural beings that exist are beings more powerful than the common population of the planet they're worshipped on. Needless to say, she's an atheist.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? She has a moral code, though I'm not sure I would call it strong. She subscribes to the Morphus's belief that, as the most advanced civilization they know of, they must take care of those planets that cannot help themselves. Myuria wants to protect and save people in a similar fashion, but isn't afraid to go to any length to do so. She can kill and blackmail if necessary. Of the two Morphus in the main party in SO4, she's the more unscrupulous of the two, and Bacchus does chastise her for looking at things in a less than noble way.

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? She can be open-minded to an extent. She'll consider the opinions and beliefs of others and not care much if it has little to do with her, but if she disagrees to the point where it bothers her, she will protest. If it really upsets her, she'll get more insistent about it, to the point of throwing her skill and knowledge around as backup. Myuria is not afraid of telling people when she thinks they're being stupid.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? She doesn't like people who harm others, but that's just a side effect of her work. I wouldn't call her prejudices against men because she doesn't hate them, but she tends to consider herself above a good chunk of them (at least, the ones so easily daunted by her sexuality).

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Lucien had life insurance, so she's well off for the moment. Then again, money is no big deal in Luceti.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? I'm... really not sure what the social classes are like on En II. They might be so advanced that they might not exist at all. However, since she is post-game, she is likely regarded as a hero due to being part of the crew that breached Nox Obscurus and eliminated the Missing Procedure.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? She has an apartment on En II, but she's currently living in House #25, also known as the SO4 Fort. Arumat, Crowe, and Lymle already live there, and soon hopefully Faize. She keeps it tidy, though if she notices that Lymle has drawn on the floor or the walls or something, she's careful not to mess it up.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? There's no money in Luceti. But if she had some, she'd probably get clothes, trashy romance novels, girly magazines, and more clothes.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? She is a field agent for the Morphus. She investigates and works to protect underdeveloped civilizations from their more advanced enemies in secret. It's a fun profession and it suits her, but she's thought less of it after Lucien was kill on their way home from a mission.

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? At the SO4 Fort, she cooks, cleans, works on her compounding, and reads romance novels when she can find them. Most importantly, she goes out to the little memorial outside the house that she set up for Lucien and meditates on things she'd like to share with them. Since it's winter, the violet planted there has died, but Draco transfigured a new violet for her that she keeps in her room. It is very well kept.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Myuria likes to have a good drink now and again, though she does try to eat healthy and count calories. She wants to stay in good shape.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:

1. Color? Pink.
2. Smell? Violets.
3. Time of day? Dusk.
4. Season? Spring.
5. Book? Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Bad romance novels.
6. Music? "That's the Way I Like It" by the Backstreet Boys (Pop really fits her) or "Maria" by Blondie.
7. Place? En II.
8. Substance? Gold.
9. Plant? Violets, again.
10. Animal? Snake

* Her mun is not.

** The game uses Morphus to refer to both the race and the job that Myuria and Bacchus perform. In non-racial terms, the Morphus are a group of people who go out to other planets and try to keep universal order. For example, Myuria ends up on Roak with the instructions to stop the resurrection of the Archfiend Asmodeus, who is revealed in SO1 to be an alien from another planet. Bacchus is sent to stop the Cardianon, who are trying to make an empire out of planets with civilizations too underdeveloped to properly fight back. I assume that most Morphus work tends to be stopping one race of aliens from wrecking another. Thus, I consider her a field agent, since her job is to go to other planets and stop this kind of thing, though the game does not call her or Bacchus that canonically.

*** Following the blurb about her duty as a field agent of the Morphus, I think her knowledge of Demonology extends to various kinds of races of demonic nature across the known universe. Given how old the Morphus civilization is, her knowledge is probably pretty vast.
