Cannes Film Festival 2011

Why is LJ such a fail these days? Is it because everyone is now on Tumblr? I miss the good old days when this community was still alive and people were actually writing their entries so people could comment on them and such. Yeah, remember that? *Sigh*

Anyway, this is going to be one of those random posts again where I review my favorite fashion from a major public event -- this time it's the 64th Cannes Film Festival.

First off, I thought everyone looked fantastic at the event this year but of course there are those standout fashion choices that stay in my mind. Here is my top 10 best dressed list:

1.Bar Refaeli - I'm not choosing her because she's Leo's girlfriend. She actually looked quite pretty at the Cannes Film Festival this year. I liked the way she (or her hairstylist) tied her ponytail. It gave her an extra edge. The blue gown may have washed her out a little bit, but boy did it show her curvacious figure. The girl's got a rocking body! Overall, I liked her whole ensemble.

2. Angelina Jolie - I was a little disappointed we didn't see Angie really rock the red carpet this year. She looked kinda "meh" to be honest. I think she could've added an extra touch by curling her hair or pulling it to the side (which she did--but I wanted to see more). Her gown was too puffy and the color didn't grab my attention at all. However, I have to say that she's aging pretty well.

3. Diane Kruger - Unf. This woman is looking better with age. She knows how to dress to impress, that's for sure. I loved the cream satin gown she wore to the festival. She looked fabulous in it, to say the least. I think she is seriously one of the best dressed actresses to ever grace the planet. I like how she can show her feminine side while giving us a little attitude at the same time.

4. Fan Bingbing - She is truly a classic beauty. I am in awe of her elegance and charm. I can't figure out which one of her dresses I liked the most, but I think she looked best in the purple gown. I like the how color fades towards the bottom and I love what she did with hair. Her braids were gorgeous and she looked stunning on the red carpet.

5. Gwen Stefani - Oh Gwen, we need to see more of you! I absolutely adored her silver outfit. She looked ravishing in it. Her platinum blonde hair coupled with her stellar long pants and shoes made a perfect combination. Gosh, that woman has some super long legs. Put more records out soon, Gwen!

6. Kirsten Dunst - She looked beautiful as always in a sleek, metallic silver dress. I like the white features underneath and her hair looked nice. I haven't seen her new movie "Melancholia" but from I've read, she won for Best Actress. I can see why because her performance looked gripping from the trailer I saw.

7. Penelope Cruz - Definitely the best dressed at the event. Penelope never disappoints when it comes to red carpet fashion. Wait, she never disappoints, period. I love how her hair was tied in the back. She looked so radiant and stylish at the same time. Where else can you find someone as chic as her? The lavender dress popped out so much to me. The fancy lacing and design at the front of the dress was beyond beautiful. She made the much younger actress standing next to her look like an old lady. How does she do that?

8. Uma Thurman - I don't know how she can manage to look so young all the time. Her white gown really stood out to me. Maybe it was how she walked in it or it was the train at the back but she looked so elegant in it. Uma always carries herself in a classy manner and this time was no exception. She really captured the essence of how a movie star should dress like.

9. Wei Tang - There wasn't anything special to her look, but I love her free flowing hair. It looked so natural and she has a good head on her shoulders. I really liked her black dress. It was so cute and it reminded me of one of those heritage costumes for some reason. This girl's got some flair to her.

10. Zoe Saldana - Gosh, well isn't she bold! Not many women can wear a candy cane patterned dress and pull it off! She looked so great in it that I didn't find the stripes distracting at all. In fact, I think they added to her beauty. She is so unique and her fashion really reflects that. I also liked the belt she tied around her waist to go with the black dress she wore. She looked so chic!
