I just got back from taking care of my Nana in Goldsboro. What a trip! She's hysterical. I can't even get mad at her when she says stuff like..."Now that the Mexican's are leaving, the other people are getting jobs. You watch." HAHAHAHA! I called my mom and told her and my mom responded with, "Where are they going?" Classic! I love my mom. I love my Nana. I took Nana to Super Kmart, Belk, JC Penny's, and Wal-mart. She loved it. I got to hear her tell me all about going down to the USO to "entertain" the boys. I can't wait to get my camera there to videotape all of this. I'm hoping to get her whole life's story on camera and put a DVD together for my family for next Christmas. I haven't seen her in so long and I thought it was going to be awkward. But it totally wasn't. I had a great time and look forward to going back this week for Thanksgiving.
Speaking of....the boys won their fucking game on Friday. Will I ever get a damn break? The kids say that my name should be, Jess "never leaves" Brady. I agree. On top of football, I have to take care of men's and women's bball, wrestling, swimming, and indoor track. Super. So we have of Wed-Fri, but the coaches thought we should have practice on Wed and THur...THURSDAY thanksgiving. I told them they were going to have to tough out walk-through's without me and that I'll meet them in Raleigh on Friday night. I think that that is fair.
While in G-boro with Nana, I played the Standard channel for her. Music like, Benny Goodman, Peggy Lee, Frank, swing...etc. I totally got back into it and bought a Peggy Lee CD. It has one of my favorite songs on it. "Is that all there is?" Below is an exerpt:
Then I fell in love, head over heels in love, with the most wonderful boy in the world.
We would take long walks by the river or just sit for hours gazing into each other's eyes.
We were so very much in love.
Then one day he went away and I thought I'd die, but I didn't,
and when I didn't I said to myself, "is that all there is to love?"
I love it! Anyways, lots to do around the house. I'm feeling tons better since starting the antibiotics. I think I had a sinus and ear infection and possibly pink eye. Damn those children!
