Summary: Earn and Pete are best friends. But people change and they just don't understand each other anymore. Then things got a lot worse in one night. An unthinkable action which drove them apart, seeing an end to their friendship. But can they really do without the other? Can they be friends again after years of separation and especially when Pete is in a mess that he can't seem to get out from? Will their feelings change again?

Chapter 1
Pete watched Yuri with her friends at the table across him. A smile unconsciously tugged the corner of his lips when he heard the soft tinkling laughter of the cute half Japanese Convent girl. He was glad that the girl was starting to cheer up again.
He must confess that he had been thinking about her lately after they spent time together at a camp a few months back. He was attracted to her innocence, something that girls now a days sorely lacked in. There was also pity mixed in with that attraction.
Protectiveness surged uncomfortably from his belly whenever he recalled Yuri's crying face, bawling her eyes out because of Noh.
Noh and Phun. These two had brought such speculations among the students of Friday Boys College. But their secret was now out in the open. He could just imagine the pain of losing someone you loved dearly to another. It must have been an especially bitter pill for Yuri to swallow. Not when she was so straight laced that Pete was pretty sure she had believed that a guy can never love another guy.
His thoughts suddenly turned to Earn and remnants of bitter feelings crept and clung to his heart. The beverage he had been drinking tasted sour in his mouth. He swallowed it with difficulty and leaned back in his seat with a sigh. Even though things between them had gotten better, there was still a part of him which hadn't forgiven his best friend for hurting him. He still hated Earn whenever he thought too deeply of how it was so easy for Earn to cast him aside just so he could have little moments of bliss by being beside the buzzcut boy. Yes. Earn was in love with Noh too. He could still be in love for all that Pete knew.
Pete huffed humorlessly. He just didn't know what to do with that bastard. Their easy friendship was totally shot. Nothing was the same anymore. It didn't matter how hard he strove to regain their old camaraderie. They had both changed.
“Pete,” Yuri's sweet voice brought him out of his musings and he smiled at the cute girl before him. A light blush dusted her chubby cheeks and her round eyes were bright with a sort of nervous anticipation. He smiled even wider, amused at the visage.
“Is Pete alone today? Why are you alone? Do you want some company? Yuri and friends are going to watch a movie. Do you want to come with us?” The rapid questions bombarding him made him chuckle. Her questions stuttered to a stop and she giggled sheepishly.
“Thanks for asking Yuri. But Pete needs to run an errand in a bit,” he answered apologetically. Yuri seemed to deflate a moment before perking up again and smiled to him.
“Umm. Don't worry about it. Yuri just thought of asking because Pete was frowning. Smile more na... You look a whole lot better when you smile,” the half Japanese said. Pete chuckled again and the girl huffed planting her delicate hands on her hips, faking annoyance. But before she could say anything more, her friends had called her to hurry before they miss the movie. The bright smile was back on her face again. “Yuri have to go now. It was nice seeing you again Pete. Bye!”
She hurried after her friends. The sight of her pigtails bouncing was absurdly adorable. A minute after, Pete was outside the cafe's entrance grabbing Yuri's elbow. “Will you give me your line and number?”
The startled look on Yuri's face disappeared and was replaced with a shy smile. Pete ignored the rest of her friends who were watching them with a teasing glint in their eyes while Yuri entered her details into his phone. It was slightly nerve racking to be watched like this. This was the first time he had asked a girl for their number.
“Call me soon na,” Yuri said handing his phone back to him. Pete wished that the ground would swallow him whole when he distinctly heard one of the girls teased Yuri that her brave knight was hot as fuck and his little steed might be even hotter. Girls were just as bad as boys now days.
He was incredibly happy though.

Earn was not happy.
He was incredibly bored stuck at home with nothing to do. He thought of going out but none of his friends were available. He thought of calling Pete to come over but hanging out with his best friend was getting a tad uncomfortable lately. Honestly speaking, it felt as though they were just normal friends. Just like how he is friends with Fi or Film or the rest of Friday boys that he knew. Besides, Pete seems to be busy lately. He's not sure with what though.
Earn groaned frustrated and flung himself into bed. Sometimes he wished that Noh hadn't gotten together with that bastard Phun! He groaned again. As usual, the ache mainly centered in his chest accompanied his thoughts of Noh. The pain had dull a little but it was still very much present. But he needed to get over him. He couldn't let his heartbreak get to him. Especially not in front of Pete. Not after how hard it was to earn his forgiveness.
His groans changed into a weary sigh. He didn't know what he should do with Pete. The gulf between them hadn't grown any wider. But it wasn't shrinking either.
Earn's dismal mood soon perked up when his phone rang. He smiled widely at the name flashing across the screen of his phone.
“Khrab Khun Noh, what can I do for you today?” Earn answered on the third ring.
Noh huffed at the other end and someone was laughing boisterously in the background. “Ai Earn, me and the boys are going jamming. You wanna come along?”
He grinned into the phone as he scooted out of bed. His earlier boredom dissipated entirely and he eagerly answered. “Yeah sure. Just text me the time and place and I'll meet you there.”
Noh's end suddenly became rather noisy. He heard someone mentioning Pete and rowdy teasing quickly ensued. Earn frowned. “Ai Noh, what's going on?”
“Nah, we saw Pete with Yu... A girl. You know how these bastards are,” Noh dismissed him after that slight hesitation. Earn's frown deepen. So that idiot has been ditching him for a girl? He really wanted to ask Noh who Pete was with but he was quickly cut off. “Oi! Hurry up and hang up! I'll text you the address.”
Bastard Noh. He didn't even say bye before the line went dead. Earn smirked, staring at the phone in his hand affectionately.
Fucking cute bastard.
