Thank you Ben Franklin...
I guess that means this house is now a home. There is food in the fridge and the kitchen is arranged to my aunt Limor's exacting specifications (she's a wannabe interior designer and the truth is, she did a much better job arranging things than I did). There is real fire (a pilot light!) because there is no central air or heating, which is kind of annoying when the temperature outside is 50 fucking degrees, but I have a warm bathrobe so it's okay. The computers are set up, so there's the food and fire for the mind...And the cats are loving it. They have space to run around and be retarded in.
Second day waking up in my new home and I really love it. It feels more open somehow, not in terms of space necessarily, since it's just about the same size as the apartment was, but in terms of possibility. If I want to do something here, I can do it--and not worry about a landlord or a roommate or anyone really.
When it gets warm enough I'm going to walk around naked for the first time since we lived alone in Philly, and it will be GLORIOUS.
PS. Housewarming party sometime next month, details forthcoming.
