Except for getting what I like to call "alcohol poisoning" right at the end of the night, which resulted in a sweating-but-freezing, puking, unhappy, sick little-girl Orli for most of the wee hours (Black Toilet: 2, Orli: 0) Christmas was very very nice.
I got to wake up late and bake pumpkin bread to fill the house with a delicious scent.
I took a walk with Mike's grandad in the cool crisp air, and was neither in pain nor too cold to enjoy it.
I got to see most of Mike's family (the ones I really like, anyway) and watch them smile as they opened gifts I knew they'd like.
I got tons of gifts they knew I'd like!
Mike and I cuddled quite a bit during the day and most of dinner.
In the quiet, in-between moments, I knit.
So, a good day overall.
Christmas haul includes: a SWIFT OMG. A couple of knitting books I specifically requested (Barbara Walker, Meg Swansen) and a couple I didn't know about (knitting mysteries, what?), a gorgeous wooden jewelry box like I salivated over in Solvang, a pair of pajamas, a T-shirt with Invader Zim as the old Alien Invaders game, gift certificates for food and a ridiculous amount for yarn, and from Mike, the kicker--a brand new shiny MP3 player that's NOT an iPod, the ZUNE.
I cannot wait to load it up with all my lame-core music and rock out with my yarn out.
christmas,
knitting,
gifts
