Very nice work. This is an interesting take on a possible ending that would have been nice in the game. I was never able to do the darkside ending, myself, since I knew it would require Carth dying.

The Xbox version I have Carth escapes. I've played it through using different dialogue and never came across the killing Carth scenario. I have heard a lot about the dark side ending where Carth dies and I am guessing this is a PC variation.

I played the Xbox version too and now I'm starting to doubt my memory... I'm sure I had Carth die at some point, except maybe I didn't? It's been awhile since I played. I do remember the ending were Carth escapes as well, so... I don't know.

I tried many ways with both female and male dark side characters for the dialogue where Carth dies, but it never came up for me.

It's just as well because for my dark side fic purposes I like having Carth alive.

Maybe I got lucky? Or you know unlucky, because I much prefer Carth alive.

Maybe you had an earlier version of the game? I didn't get into it when it first came out because I didn't play video games at the time. But my friends who were really into Star Wars kept insisting that I play this game, so I started with a second hand xbox and second hand copy of the game.

And boy was I hooked.

Yeah, with my male dark side character loves mocking Admiral Carth Onasi of the Republic Fleet as they fight battles ship to ship.
But I really love this scenario of Carth becoming the Stih admiral for the female Revan. ...something satisfying about it....

I honestly don't remember. It's been all too long since I played.

Mostly I only played a female Revan and I loved the romance with Carth... but I like Revan better on the dark side. So yeah, in my mind this is how it played out. :)

Carth is fun to work with in a fic. And I don't even use him in a pairing (except for one little smutfic I have in my journal).

I have this one long running WIPish fic with a female OC who was in Carth's command during the Mandalore War, and had gone to Revan's side after being blackmailed by Revan. So Carth thinks she's one of the traitors. It's a lot more involved than that, her background (her family does have a deep rooted matter of vengeance and vendetta against the Jedi). Nothing romantic, but it's interesting to see how his viewpoint evolves as he learns more of what had happened.

How Carth is twisted to the dark side is interesting.

Oh, yes. Seeing Carth turn is just... weirdly satisfying. He's so nice and... good and you can just see how easily you could twist that and gradually get him to turn. For some reason I don't find it nearly as interesting to see any of the others turn to the dark.

I think you're right; the others wouldn't be so interesting going dark side, and Bastila wasn't surprising.

But to turn Carth against his beloved Republic and make him no better than Karath...heh, heh. From some of his dialogue in the game it seemed at times he was angry enough to go dark side and I had wondered that.

It might be that feeling of 'the higher you are the farther you fall' or something, I mean he's the most obviously good one out of the lot. And there's a lot more corrupting to do. :)

He would *never* dream of betraying the Republic...

I'm looking at him right now, playing Kotor. My, he's a little grumpy now, wants to get to the Sith academy to find his son Dustil.

I noticed something. To continue the romance with Carth, your dark side female character has to take light side points to get Dustil out of the academy. But for the guys playing dark side, they don't have to take light side points to get Bastila to make up with her mother in order to continue the romance subplot with her. What's with that?????

The first time I played I managed to completely accidentally go through the romance with Carth and then chose to go with the dark side ending (I'll admit that storyline was probably part of why I love the game so much). I kind of never realised you needed light side points to save Dustil. Maybe Bastila is just easier than Carth...

Actually I like the saving Dustil plot line even with the light side points because as Dark Lord reborn, a male Revan could turn Dustil against Carth, and a female Revan could have them both working for her.

Thank you. The darkside ending was the first one I played and... well I preferred it, except obviously the part were Carth died.
