so that's how you do it

Just talked with mom. And oh, yeah. She's all kinds of exhausted. Also, the talk ended with her anouncing that she's going to take a bottle of whatever (something with plenty of alcohol I suppose) and go to bed and drink until she passes out. And then she'll take her mom to church tomorrow. Mom almost never drinks, but she says she feels entitled.

And she told me her brother already passed out on grandmother's couch (pretty much straight after getting back from the funeral) from taking too much Diazepam (that's what used to be called valium, right?). Hey, I knew mom was carrying a lot of pills with her to the funeral, just in case (in case of what? I don't know. But mom likes to be prepared. Last time I was at a funeral at that church a guy had a heart attack in the middle of it all and mom got to save his life... whatever it is you do with someone who's having a heart attack. The funeral service didn't even stop), but I had no idea my uncle was pretty much drugged up to his eyeballs for the whole thing. He'd already had some before and then mom apparently gave him some more at the funeral. I just find it funny that all the women in the family managed it totally drug free (some of my realatives can get annoying about gender...).

Speaking of drugs... apparently instead of figuring out what's wrong with my sister they're just gave her freakishly strong painkillers with so many damn side effects that it's not even funny. Well okay, so they're going to map out her nervous system on Monday and she's scheduled for an MRI in November, so that's something I guess. At least they're finally trying to do something, but getting them to do that something has been an effort. And the painkillers will hardly make her body actually work, which she kind of really needs because most days she's alone with a one year old kid and being able to move is pretty fucking essential.

*sigh* Really, I should go sleep too. I'm definitely not going to post any more random outbursts about my family.
