Why are fics more enjoyable for some fandoms than for others? Is it the authors who are writing stories? Is it the canon development of favorite characters? Or is it just the show?

I began reading fanfic when Lord of the Rings was still in theaters. I then moved onto Horatio Hornblower stories. Then I hit the motherload with SGA.

That is the question.  The answer is...I have been at work!  Work has not been overly busy, it has just been.  I have been working on projects that aren't hard...just time consuming.  That means that I barely have time to do the fun stuff like play on lj or read my book!  I have noticed a severe decline in the amount of books I have been reading.  ( Read more... )

Usually, in the summers, I am looking for anything that will keep my occupied while I am at work...this summer is completely different.  I think part of that might be because we are short a staff member.  Lots of projects and it doesn't seem like enough time to do everything.  Oh well, at least I have something to do.  The downside to all this is ( Read more... )

It is crazy hot here!  It has been all week!  Don't think I am complaining...I am not...I actually like it when it is warm.  The only down side is that it is freezing in the building where I work.  Take today for example.  It is 90 degrees outside...inside, it is 65 degrees!  Bit of a difference!  Oh well, not much I can do about it!

Yeah!  New episodes of shows!  I am so excited!  But I guess that I am a little sad also since it is the end of the season for Summer shows like Eureka.
The season finale of Eureka was sweet, but I want more!
Robin Hood on BBC America has begun again!  I adore Robin!
Big Bang Theory started last night...poor Sheldon!  He is my favorite by far.

It wasn't the best of weekends, but it had some fun moments.
Friday: Had to work but then I got to lay around the house and watch Eureka!  Yeah!  I love Carter...and Jo...and everyone!
Saturday: Went to a play in Pittsburgh.  My friend and I went to see Les Miserables.  ( Thoughts on Les Miserables... )

Yeah!  New episodes of Eureka start tonight!  I can not wait!  I have missed that show so much!  It is quirky and fun and who doesn't love Carter?!  Did anyone else see the new girl that is going to be on?  I think it is the girl who played Laura Cadman on Stargate Atlantis.  I liked her on Atlantis and wished she would have been in more episodes ( Read more... )

I have to say that I am very excited to start watching new television shows!
I finally saw Merlin and like it alot.  It reminded me of Crusoe that NBC showed last season in the way it was shot (I loved Crusoe:)).
