For the Love of TV!!!
As many of you may recall, I work 2nd shift. This means I don't get to watch tv shows as they air most of the time. I have to rely on my beloved DVR. I have the ability to record 2 shows at once. It is quite lovely...except on the rare weeks that my husband has to work 1st shift. He normally works 2nd so I can tape all kinds of stuff and it doesn't interrupt his viewing of hunting and fishing shows.
Last night was a completely different story. Granted, I had been warned earlier in the day that he was in a bad mood, something at work was annoying him. I got home last night all set to watch Lost and Glee (which are on at the same time) and the results of Dancing With The Stars. I got home around 12:30am and let the evil 4-legged animals out to do their business, changed into my jammies and settled in bed to watch my shows.
I watched Lost and was thrilled...I adore Hurley!!! I started to go through my list of DVR recordings only to discover that there was no episode of Glee!!! I know the timer was set...I double checked before I went to work. I checked the timer and saw that it had been canceled...by my husband!!! WTF!!! I woke him up and made him explain himself. Apparently, he was annoyed that his outdoor shows were interrupted by my show and figured it would be aired sometime later and I could watch it then!!! I have been waiting for new episodes for much too long and now couldn't watch it!!! Needless to say, I told him they don't air reruns of the local network shows anymore and he could never do that again to me!!! He rolled his eyes and went back to sleep! Rude!!! I mean, he has stupid hunting shows on the DVR that he could be watching, or the movie from Netflix that has been there for 5 days!
I spent my dinner break at work tonight on Hulu.com watching the episode! Thank goodness for the internet! I love my husband, but I hate it when he works 1st shift...hopefully this doesn't happen next week!
